Good win. They made it interesting but didn't fold. Baby steps.

It's a process.

That was insane in the membrane how that thing ended.

But I will take it. Petteway is putting this team on his back. We are really lucky to have stolen that guy away from Texas Tech.

I think all of our home games are winnable. I would call the Wisconsin game a tossup at this point.

Minnesota is just as good as Wisconsin. More talented than Wisconsin, though Wisconsin plays better Defense.

In Lincoln, I think we stack up real well with Wisconsin this year........especially beings that we are probably going to have more to play for at that point in the season. That game could be the difference in post-season play for us.

why did they let him go

He made the decision to leave as far as I know due to the fact that he wanted playing time and they wouldn't give it to him.

He is a raw player in some aspects.....has a real quick unique release. Any good coach can see instantly that the kid is a monster though.

still a chance for the big dance, jjm?

There always is. We have 2 wins now over top 20 teams in the RPI. We haven't more than one win over a top 25 team in the RPI in the same season so far this century.....until now, of course.

Also, our losses are all against good teams. UMASS is #13 in the country with a 17-1 record and we took them to the wire, as well as Michigan.

It's not so much the win/loss record that the selection committee looks at. It's who those wins and losses come against.

I will say, Penn State is not a good team.

But that one still doesn't go down as a "questionable" loss.

There are not 10 more wins left on the schedule, JJM. They'll need at least 20 wins to be on the bubble for the Big Dance.
Picking up a couple wins in the Big 10 Tourney would help, but even that would mean they need to win 8 out of these last 11 regular season games.

Iowa had 25 wins last season and didn't get in.

Minny barely got in with 21.

Who did Iowa beat though last season?

I'll tell you who they beat.......nobody.

I watched a special last year on ESPN on how they select teams for the tournament. They said it actually has nothing to do with total wins, and everything to do with who you have wins and losses against.

I mean, you have to remember.....Iowa was 9-9 in Conference play. They were on the bubble, but didn't have any impressive wins.

Minnesota was 8-10 and made it in easily as an 11 seed. It's because they had a few quality wins.

Minnesota actually finished the season with 3 wins over teams ranked in the top 25 in the RPI last season.

Iowa finished with 1 win over a top 25 team in the RPI.

Nebraska already has 2 this season. There is always a chance, sir.
