He didn't pan out last Season, and was sent back down to Rochester. Now he's barely getting any ice time so far this Season, leading up to tonight where he is a healthy scratch.

Needless to say, this is not what the Sabres or fans were hoping would happen. A lot of people were hoping he'd break out by now as a legit game changer and help ignite the struggling Sabres put some goals in.

So who's to blame? *Poll Forthcoming*

I voted Mikhail, but only because I couldn't vote for "IPW can lift 100 lbs over his head"

Still has a lot of talent. I think he'll get it together.

Guys like Spezza and Thornton were given the rough treatment early on; if Mikhail wants to be a quality NHL player he'll use this as a reason to get better.

Has Grigorenko been outspoken to the media? Is he considered a malcontent? I think these are big factors. Ryan Strome was sent to the AHL & it surprised some. He hasn't said anything about it. He's just going to play hockey. Griffen Reinhart spoke to the media about being ready for the NHL. The following day the Islanders sent him back to the Edmonton Oil Kings of the WHL.

For some reason it won't let me put that down as one of the options if I'm the one posting the poll. :noidea:

I haven't heard him say anything publicly, but I did hear reports that he was/is hated in the locker room. Players saying he's given too many chances and he thinks he's a "golden boy".

Maybe the Sabres will make a trade with Colorado and reunite him with Roy? Roy always seemed to get the most out of him when they were with the Ramparts.

I agree....

And you just recently witness that with the Isles and Niederreiter.

And now he's on the top line in Minnesota with Koivu and Parise, so maybe it is a change on scenery that is needed.

Jackets kicked Ryan Johansen in the nuts a few times last year and he came to camp in game shape and is noticeably more poised out there. It does work.

Only if the player cares. It might be a sort of character Litmus test.

The Sens are playing the same card with Zibanejad right now. Sent to the minors despite a decent rookie season. I'm hoping he learns how to dominate in the A and comes up strong to the big club.

Does the Sabres option in the poll equate to Darcy Regier?

If so, then so much that. The way they handled him last year was pathetic.

99% of the time I blame the gm and staff for putting a player like that on the 23 man.

That being said I choose to blame Ruff, just barely ahead of Cody's dad.
