The way to beat Michigan is to force Denard Robinson to throw.

Turnover Margins

.........................Mich80th.....NU110th
Fumbles Lost.......3..............13
Fumbles Gain......5..............6
INT Lost..............11.............5
INT Gain.............6...............3

Loss Total..........14.............18
Gain Total..........11..............9

Unfortunately NU's Rushing Defense sucks and their DB's can't catch.

This is what Alabama did. Load the box, shut down his capability to run and make him throw.
As you said though our rush defense sucks and to do this our line has to consistently over power their offensive line.
And you can't back off it the first time he breaks loose like we did against tOSU. You have to have the balls to keep doing it. I haven't seen our coaches nutsacks but they do seem to collapse quickly when it comes to play calling.

NU's just not physical up front with Steinkuhler and Meredith. Particularly against BCS AQ teams. I'd guess looking at Michigan's rushing numbers they are quite physical up front offensively. Robinson may not have to throw very often. Mich St stuffed their run pretty good and forced Robinson into a lot of bad throws.

I don't think their as good as last year but with that said, are we? I do think our only chance is to put pressure on him all night long, get a couple of good hits on him and cause him to make bad decisions.

Mich is not the team to be giving the short field to, and definately not the team to be giving 2nd or 3rd chances because of dropped INT's.

So what your saying is if we get a W it'll be luck again?

Believe it or not, NU is actually better (overall) than they were last year at this point.

Unfortunately the categories they are worse in are glaring.

Rushing Defense
Scoring Defense
Turnover Margin
Punting

Two of those are giving the opponent the short field.
Punting and Turnovers.

Scoring Defense is the result of giving the opponent the short field.

One would think those are fixable but they haven't been yet.

The rushing defense I think NU is just stuck with until some changes are made either through player attrition, coaching, or Strength and conditioning.

Not really.

If they get the W against Mich it will be because they punt well, limit turnovers, and get turnovers when they're offered up on a silver platter.

NU can't play like they did in their only 2 BCS AQ wins (Wisky, NW) and beat Michigan. They will get blown off the field ala tOSU.

The poor Rushing Defense can be overcome in bend but don't break, but if you add those other issues it's a recipe for disaster.

The way I see it sirs...

We have no chance.... unless robinson doesn't play for some reason...

I don't know why but I found this post extremely funny....

Busted out laughing here at the break table in front of all me coworkers.

Vegas oddsmakers look at thing that should be consistent week to week.....things like Offensive and Defensive output....

By all odds, Nebraska is due for a clean game......they figure we can't keep turning it over like this every week, but at the same time they see that statistically we aren't as bad as the score has been indicating.

I gotta input all of thee stats from this past weekend.....

My program thinks Michigan is getting better though and Nebraska is getting worse........or should say it thought that last week. So I'm doubting it's gonna pick us to win this one.

My biggest fear is that Michigan's elite athletes (much like with tOSU) will make too many plays.....

I see us slowing down Robinson somehow, but I'm afraid Taylor will be picked off 2-3 times due to pure athleticism.....

Much of it will also be due to Taylor being under pressure in quarters 2-4....

NU shouldn't get fancy against Michigan. That could potentially get them in a hole early like we've seen at other times this year.

NU needs to rely on the run as that is their strength and also where Michigan is softest. Opening up the offense unless completely neccessary is likely to get themselves destroyed ala tOSU.

It would be nice to have a 100% Rex just for north/south grind it out football. Rex is too slow for an east/west guy so it's not as important.

Rex might not play

I'm shocked it's even being considered.....I honestly thought we've already seen the last of Rex in a Husker jersey.....

The guy has to consider his future.......Some team will still take a shot at him, but not if he completely fucks his knee up worse than it already is.......

Last week should have been rexs first game back this year...

Rushing him back has back fired big time, imo.

Wouldn't it be nice for once to have a game in the bag late in the 4th quarter for once against a good team? Am I asking for too much here?
