Part of the Kieth Ballard trade. Think the Panthers deserve the whoops on this one, they put him on waivers :L

Here's your weird stat of the day...

Three players on the Islanders have as many or more goals than Alex Ovechkin.

The funny thing is Grabner was a waiver pickup. Moulson was an UFA from the Kings who couldn't make their roster.:D

You & everyone else know who Tavares is.:)

they basically only had room for Raymond or him in the top six.
both bring the same type of skillset.
still don't regret the choice, but that's not set in stone.

glad to see Grabner finally getting a chance.

Grabner is a good player. The Islanders have nothing to lose, and in some ways that makes them very dangerous.

Pretty cool to see him making a name for himself in the NHL. The guy always had a knack for finding the back of the net.

Does he backcheck now? Because he sure didn't in juniors, lol. Still was always fun to watch when he had the puck.

A Hatty today against the Sabres. If somebody said he'd score 24 goals this season I think just about everyone would tell he/she they were NUTS.

Thanks Panthers. Grabner is definately a keeper.

Grabner's success this year is likely a product of him being one of the Isles best scoring options, which shows the state they are in really. On a team with more depth, there is no way he has 24 goals at this point. Very similar to what is going on with Clarke MacAurther on the Leafs.

Grabner is playing on the 2nd line with Neilson & Okposo. Okposo has been injured most of the year. The chemistry these three guys have right now is very impressive considering how little time they've played together.

has as may or more goals in only the past 18 games as Kane, Brown, Zetterberg, Selanne, Stasny, Richards, Kopitar, Semin, Cole, Havlat, Gaborik, Malkin, Thornton, Alfresson, Datsyuk and Elias do for the entire season.

....and is now ahead of Ovechkin, Marleau, Iginla, St. Luois, Gionta, Vanek, Heatly, Kovalchuk and Kessel overall for the year.

Now THAT's one hell of a hot streak for someone who's name most of us didn't know a few weeks ago.

edit: see below.
math error
don't feel like going back and correcting this though

crap. jjust realized my math was off. was thinking 18 goals, not 18 games.
15 goals in 18 games.

so drop a bunch of those names off that first list.

intent still holds true though.
15 goals in the past 18 games?
That kicks ass.
