After this yr.

I believe Landry was taken one spot ahead of NE in the draft, had he not gone to Mia, BB was going to take him. They're were talks about NE going after him, but not sure we can do that with Cooks now, and honestly...I can live with Cooks and Jules as the 1/2 next yr. Landry talk to much shit...

Miami plan was to knock Brady out.
Win that game and see Pats again in 2 weeks without Brady.
Go into the playoffs with Brady out - take your chances!

Dolphins tough-guy act works against them vs. Patriots

Suh and gang are just grasping at straws.....

I expect some Mia players to get some fines in the mail this week...esp that shit stain Alonso and #50 who punched Cooks on the same play as Dola was punched...

Amendola isn't getting any younger and can't play more than two offensive sets in a row. Adding a big body like Landry would be a huge plus for the Patriots. But I don't think he'll want to play for a reasonable contract. He'll be looking for $10M a year for 5 years with at least half guaranteed. BB won't pony up that much change.

2018-> -> -> Edleman, Cooks, Mitchell, Hogan, Amendola, Prescott
Gronkowski, Bennett, Wayne
White, Burkhead, Lewis, Gillislee

All of the skills will be back. They'll need to shore up the OL. Think they're good this year?? If all of these guys are healthy in 2018 ..................holy crap!!! I think they play the AFC North (BAL, CLE, CIN, PIT) and the NFC North (CHI, DET, GB, MIN).

Big if.

No idea what Edelman, Mitchell, and Bennett will come back like, or if Bennett will see his intention to retire through. Gillislee can't make the game day roster anymore, doesn't bode well for next year...he wil likely be gone before his roster bonus is due. Neither him nor Allen has really done enough to justify their salaries for next year. Amendola, Lewis, and Burkhead are all FA's.

IOW, there's likely to be several changes in the skills group next year.

Landry is a very realistic target, IMO. Depending on his contract demands, of course. I suspect playing with a HOF QB on a team with a legit shot to compete for the title would do wonders for his attitude. BB mines the AFCE vein quite often for skill guys.

Landry is a good WR and would fit in well with the Pats. However, he is primarily a slot type receiver and, unless Dola retires or is released and Edelman does not come back as an effective receiver next year, that spot is filled. Also, we have two slot receivers (McCarron and Reedy) on the PS. I would look more for a young TE to groom as a Gronk replacement.

Patriots training staff is one of the best in professional sports. Rarely, if ever, has a Patriots player not been able to return after a serious injury.

Bennett will cost the Pats $6M against the cap next year. I think he'll play next year.
I agree with you on Gillislee.
Where can Amendola go? His limited playing time fits perfectly with the Patriots subbing offense.
Lewis has said publicly that he has no intention of going out to test the market, he wants to stay in Foxboro.
Burkhead has never had the opportunities that BB has given him and from all indications, he wants to come back next year.

There ain't no Gronk replacements.

Who you going to pay: Cooks or Landry.. Can't have both. Cooks wants to stay and knows they system already. I mean shit..give me both, not sure it's possible. Unless we tag Cooks in 2 yrs and sign Landry then watch them walk away when TB does....hmmm

Especially if MM is back next year. The team has bigger concerns like LB, DE and possibly CB. I'd also love to see a power RB.

Amendola has great hands, makes clutch plays and is in sync with Brady as well as anybody ever has been.
But he is prone to getting injured.
He is also one hell of a bargain and a team player. Team friendly pay cut 3 years in a row? 4? So many I can't remember.
But as much as I love DA, he is first on the block.
Second, in my opinion, is MM.
Coming back from injuries/surgeries when drafted, injured last year, injured part or all of this year...
The kid synced up with Brady with as much trouble as I had syncing my phone to my Bluetooth speaker. None.
Third is Dorsett. He had a great catch for 40 yards...maybe he's on his way up. TB has tried to force him the ball in double and triple coverage a number of times, so Tom has trust in him, it just hasn't payed off yet.

I can easily see 5 WR's next year of Cooks, Dorsett, Edelman, Hogan and Landry.

Gillislee...Gone.

Alan...He's getting better and blocks well. Playoffs will be the deciding factor.
Gronk, Bennett, and Hollister are servicable but not great.
By that I mean both Bennett and Gronk are great when on the field, not so much when on IR. Hollister catches well and plays ST, but at 245 blocking will never be the same as the TE's at 270.

I hear ya. I think BB tags MB this off-season. SO we can assume the crew will be back. Plus John Jones has made a huge impact this yr and improved a ton. Cy Jones will be back to provide some depth. I think we see Gillmore, MB, Rowe, Jones, Badmossi all back next yr...and that's cool.

I think BB handles the LB need's in this draft at both the end of the 1st and top of 2nd.

DE should be set with Flowers, Wise, Rivers, Lee, Langi

I really think LB needs to be overhauled this off-season and gets some athletic type LB' like a Shazier type.

Also would not shock me to see BB go OT at the end of 1st either.

Right on got to protect Brady at all costs.I love some of these young guys like Bademosi with another year they could be special. Like the Bruschi's and Nick's of the world. Nothing earth shattering just super solid Patriots.

Gillislee's contract was front loaded. He's cheap next year. IDK.....
