That's just because, as a Padre fan, you have no idea what a no-hitter is.

I would of taken your post seriously but you misspelled the name of the team. It's the Padres, not the Padre.

Only 8 pitches the whole game that were called strikes when they were apparently out of the zone. And really, only 3 of those were really bad calls.

MLB does not use robots to call balls and strikes (which I am in favor of, fwiw). But to try to poopoo on this kid's no-no because of a couple questionable strike calls is BS.

He threw a no-no on 110 pitches while walking none and striking out 11. He hit 3 batters, granted, but that does not take away from the fact those were the only Mets to reach base all night. Dude was dealing. Pure and simple. His sinker is a beast of a pitch and the Mets had no answer for it.

Is Heston a future HOFer? Most likely not. I have had him pegged with a ceiling of a journeyman 4/5 for the last couple years. But it isnt like this is some bum having a fluke game. He had a complete game earlier in the season in Houston giving up only 1 run while striking out 10 and walking none. Not exactly a pitchers park.

I take the opposite view, actually. I know, what a surprise, right? The fact that he hit 3 batters yet walked no one seems to indicate that he was having command problems but was being gifted a generous zone all night. I could be wrong.

Completely agree here. He has a pretty good "out" pitch and he used it liberally. Too many Mets stared at too many pitches, and when they DID make contact, it was weak dribblers.

Tip o' the Cap. Well done.

3 bad pitches does not a wild night make. And one of those HBPs actually just breezed the uniform. While technically a HBP, not all HBPs are created equal.

Again, looking at the pitchFX, there were only 8 pitches all night that were "generous", and only 3 that were flat-out bad. I have not looked at the zone Syndergaard or Gee had to deal with, but I would assume it was similar (I am willing to be shown wrong on this).

And he might HAVE taken your pissy rebuke seriously if you hadn't typed 'would OF'

 That is funny. But I thought he has to repeat it as Padre before it becomes serious? Somewhere I am Fleming was saying something to the effect "First time is happenstance, twice is coincidence the third time is enemy action."
