Best College Football Stadiums, Ranked — NCAA Football Stadiums

1. Memorial Stadium, Nebraska

Get wowed by the 2013 expansion that offered Big Red faithful a new towering brick façade, while creating a new corridor and a three-story glass window that displays historic domed Gate 20 in the original exterior. The remodel uses the original exterior as an interior wall.

The "Sea of Red" has now grown to around 85,000, which famously qualifies the stadium as the third-largest city in Nebraska anytime the Cornhuskers take the field. Memorial Stadium creates one of the country’s most canyon-like bowls for a steep seating rake.

The stadium never seems to be very loud or have overwhelming noise for opponent though.

Ummmm no we are the loudest stadium in the Big 10. Also ask Miami if it is loud.

Been there years ago, can't recall games. Was loud, but not like overwhelmingly loud. Maybe it was just me??

Yea it kinda depends on the opponent.

I’ve been to too many games to count. Some are quiet, some are so loud I can’t hear myself talk.

Few years ago we played Wisconsin there and I think we were 2-3 and they were 3-2. Game didn’t mean jack shit, but the 2 fanbases don’t get along so it was loud as shit that day.

I’m just using that game as an example of how it depends on who the opponent is. Any time we play a ranked opponent it’s loud as well.

Yes, depends on game and current position of team. When i watch games on TV it just doesn't seem very loud or "riot" like. I'm feeling Frost and team will change this. I remember years ago, 25+ that teams would not want to come to Lincoln because it was a 99% chance they would lose. Not only lose but get the as- kicked. Not so much recently.

It was almost 27 years ago that this man brought his team to Lincoln.

Was in Lincoln for a basketball game. Older guy told me Omaha was the largest populated city, but not on Saturday’s during football season

Well that old boy lied to you lol.

The famous saying, that I’m sure he was trying to think of, is that on gameday Memorial Stadium itself becomes the 3rd highest populated city in Nebraska.
