I thought growing old would take longer
Surprised there wasn't a thread already so I'll start one. Game has just started. Kelowna vs Oshawa so as an Orr fan I'll be rooting for the Generals.

Draisaitl got the Memorial Cup MVP...He made a couple of nice passes, otherwise he was invisible in the championship game. I would have given it to Ken Appleby, he was the main reason Oshawa won yesterday.
The Kelowna players were face-down crying on the ice. Were the Generals supposed to grab an espresso while they waited for them to collect themselves?Gotta say, I felt it was disrespectul of Oshawa to put on the Champions caps before the handshake.
This seems to be a growing trend. Delay, delay, delay the handshake line. Not just in this game, but in all hockey series lately. I get that the winners are happy. Nothing wrong with all jumping on the ice and piling on each other [OK that sounds a little weird, but you know what I mean]. Then respect your opponent and shake their hands. All of the coaches, and other hangers on should not be on the ice until the point when the trophy is wheeled out.
Making your opponent sit there for 10+ minutes while you hug your teammates, while your coaches grandchildren run out on the ice, while the puckbunnies come out for a squeeze is just BS.
Oh, and what the hell???. The handshake line is no place for children of team officials. Players, Coach and Asst Coach only. No owners, relatvies, or anyone else who happened to jump over the boards.
just wondering who was matched up against Draisaitl at centre for Oshawa all game yesterday

That is just wrong on EVERY level.

Not gonna go look for kelowna fans, but the OT goal was quite possibly goalie interference. If that had happened in the NHL, it would have got a long, long look. Cirelli clearly makes contact with the goalie's head before the puck squirts loose.
But it doesnt matter, OSH is officially the #1 Junior franchise of all time. Period.
