Melo also never mentioned that the offense was the problem.

"I am disappointed too in all of our effort. We are just not getting it done. It ain't nothing that Coach [Mike] Woodson is doing [or not doing]. It ain't got nothing to do with X's and O's out there on the basketball court. We are not getting it done from an effort standpoint. It's like we are not even trying right now."

Too me, that sounds like a player who's not pointing fingers or excusing himself. Just referring to every facet of the game.

Blaming Melo for this is retarded. It is a team issue which is why he kept on using the word WE instead of I or THEY

but not blaming Melo would not have been as trolling :D

I actually like a lot of what Melo said but I do not think he can put enough blame on himself tbh. A lot of the issues with this team are personnel related. Melo is a huge piece of the personnel and also a major break down point of the team. He doesn't play D, pass the ball, move with out the ball well, or play well with PGs. How do you build around that or even not blame him? I would also hate to play with that guy for all those reasons.

Melo is a great scorer, but the issue of any team is going to start with him due to his draw backs.

Not really overrated. He's the best offensive player in the game

You're right. I mean he's the best scorer in the league followed by Durant

Melo has to be the most overrated superstar ever
His career FG% is a tad low when talking about superstars. Especially for a SG. But in his defense, he's really never played with a good 2nd option scorer throughout his career. So the scoring load has been put on his shoulders for his entire career.

I keep hearing from Melo in the off seasons these past few years that he's going to be "more motivated" and "ready to take that next step"

...and then the season starts and it's the same ol Melo

You see guys like Lebron, Durant, and even Kobe...and they continually improve each year...adding new wrinkles to their game...refining their game...becoming better players

Look at Durant...when he came in the league he was a skinny jump shooter...now he gets to the line 10-13 times a game...he has a mid range...he can post up...he rebounds better...and defends much better

Look at Lebron...since 06-07 he has improved his fg % each year (.476 to .484 to .489 to .503 to .510 to .531 t .565 and this year .621)...people said Lebron couldn't play defense...now he's one of the best defenders in the game...critics said he couldn't post up...he worked on that and now has a very good post game...then they said he couldn't hit jump shots...he shot 40 % from 3 last year and like over 50 % this year

Melo is a prolific scorer for sure but we keep waiting on him to take that next step and he just never does. I think at this point in his career this is just who he is and who he's always going to be. He had a good thing in Denver I'm not sure why he left.

I think Melo as just a shooter/scorer is overrated, let alone the fact he is Bball IQ Lenny.

His TS% is 51.7% this year, that is good enough to have him ranked 36th out of SFs...

He is averaging 25.8ppg, good for 4th in the league but he is taking at least 3.4 more shots per game than all 3 players ahead of him.

He is a good scorer.

Blasts team for lack of effort and playing like shit, never once mentions their 25th ranked DEF as a possible concern.

Melo, you are a moron. I think you do not know that the other team gets to play Offense too. And I know you take more shots than anybody else but if you want others to help maybe try passing the ball or working with other players?

Carmelo Anthony blasts effort of New York Knicks - ESPN New York

What worries me more is that the Lakers will try to sign this asshole in June

Melo has been in the league for his 11th season, if he hasn't changed by now, he never will

He's the Tony Romo of the NBA minus the turnovers.

He is what he is and will continue to be so. The setup in NY is really not a good one for him. He needs a superior defense around him. Sure, having a couple of effective scores he actually trusted to give the ball to would not hurt either. Oh wait, we already covered that.
