The SWAC is likely next.

The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference suspended fall sports Thursday, resulting in the cancelation of the MEAC/SWAC Challenge and the end-of-season Celebration Bowl.

Following fellow FCS conferences the Ivy League and Patriot League, the MEAC announced it would not have competition in the fall and consider trying to make up the schedule for those sports in the 2021 spring semester.

The MEAC is in trouble! With recent notices of the 2021 departures of North Carolina A&T to the Big South, and Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman to the SWAC, the league will have lost 5 teams in less than 5 seasons. It started with Hampton's contested departure from the league in 2018 for the Big South, and Savannah State's drop to Division II the following season.

After this school year (2020-21), the MEAC will be down to 8 full members - six of which play football - but only 5 baseball teams. They will have a two-year grace period to find a sixth baseball-playing member before they lose their automatic playoff bid in that sport.

My guess is that they try to pull in a D-2 move-up from a nearby conference, or perhaps try to snag NJIT from its current league. There are also a few East Coast teams in D-2 & D-3 that play baseball as a D-1 member that could move in as an associate member.
