According to the NFL's transaction report, the #49ers have cut ILB Scott McKillop, who was playing behind NaVorro Bowman and Larry Grant.

Hmm. That's tough for the guy. I'd imagine he'll get picked up elsewhere. Thought he had a good chance as one of those 4-7 core special teams guys Harbaugh mentioned. I hadn't realized he was 3rd string.

That's too bad. Scott played well in '09 pre-season and he was effective on ST's, I was looking forward to his return at least for ST's. His injury must have slowed him up pretty bad. I hope he gets a chance somewhere else.

That surprises me he got cut so early. At least he has time to catch on somewhere, and I really hope he pulls it off.

Surprising we didn't keep him close to try and get him on our PS? Must be pretty banged up. Doesn't help that he's competing with a special team ace at ILB. We must feel very comfortable with Grant backing up.
