At first glance this looks like a blah deal however we have seen that the Pirates have been extremely successful in finding bullpen talent. Maybe another case of not being able to deal with the pressure of Philly/NY.
Good point ramburgh. Also, if Qualls does not work out, we have RP options in the minors that could come up & fill the roll quite well, in my opinion.
As a matter of fact, I was surprised Bryan Morris was not called up instead of Daniel McCutchen? Or, Chris Leroux.
Bit of a head scratcher for me. However, it has been a Great day for the Bucs! We are much better positioned now, to compete for the rest of this yr & in to the future.
Not to thrilled about Qualls but the fact that NH got McGehee for a redundent reliever was a nice pickup. Then to package him for a redundent reliever shows he has no true value.
Anyway I bet Qualls won't last long when Cruz comes back.
I'd really like to see what Bryan Morris can do against a big league lineup, it will be interesting to see what he can do when he comes up in September.
