Sam,
I can completely see the logic behind what you're saying, but here's why that wasnt a factor in my strategy.
After the first suicide draft, we were picking QB's #24-30, Kickers #13-19..any sexing QB or K wouldn't have been gauranteed a job anyways, even the kickers would primarily be in position battles once we start scraping that low, so really the only sure thing would've been that second defense.

I looked at it this way - the DST always sees the field and can you get you points, so I didn't want to use a roster spot, thinking that the more RB/WRs I had, the better the chance some of them might see regular playing time. I did take a second QB early, and thought hard about a second K - maybe even a handcuff!

Easy as pie................they all suck. BTW, I was a little suprised nobody came up with this strategy so I'd like to hear your take on it. Why not draft 2QB's, 2K's and at least 2D's? Now I understand that the D's probably suck now but the odds of everybody starting a complete team in week 1 are not too good IMO, so why not assure yourself at least 3 starters every week? I mean there are gonna be some weeks where the winner scores like 50 pts (if they're lucky)...................just wondering.

Actually, looking back, I probably should have grabbed a QB in the 1st (Palmer) since I think he will be the top scorer of all the players that were left in the (shallow) pool. As for K & DST's, the kicker would have made some sense, however, there are only so many slots. DST's do not score much in ESPN anyway, so I didn't consider doing that. Just made sure that my QB, TE and DST had different bye-weeks (the other positions were covered). I did backup my QB. but from the same team only because guys left after the first several rounds just had too many question marks on them.
The pending/potential susp of Goodson made me go with one more RB than planned so I lost one there. However, I likely would have grabbed another TE.

In the end, I'm not unsatisfied with the team misfits from what was available. The WR core is weak but could surprise depending on what happens to guys in front of them. Dwill and Thomas will get carries every week as will Goodson or Powell.

Same here... I figured grabbing more skill players would lead to more options. There are no QB's to take (other than the Jets/Jags, I think). I almost took a 2nd D (I did in the suicide league), but figured having both 49ers back up RB's was a better choice. And did you say two kickers? Nah, you couldn't have...

He's two inches taller, and only 5-10 lbs lighter, and only .07 seconds in the 40 slower than former top ten TE Aaron Hernandez...who also didn't block...just saying...

I suppose so...

Well, there are a few players that changed position. Some good, some not. Brian Urlacher was drafted as a DB. But the Bears moved him to MLB. That worked out. Hester was also a DB when he was drafted. I think he did play a few downs as a DB. But he was more dangerous as KR/PR. Then Jerry Angelo moved him to WR. I still think he could have been effective, but the offense got little attention in Chicago.

I think Safety changing to Middle LB and Corner changing to WR are doable, same with OL and DL... but QB to TE? - not the same in my eyes... and by the way, I'm not trashing your pick Treff, I'm just saying that I'll be shocked if they even try him out there...

For guys without a position, I'd rather have Shoelace than Tebow. Kinda wish somebody had taken Moreno or Helu; he was next on my list. At least the Jags have nothing special at QB.

Can't wait. It will be nice to see the roster so I can make a few pick-ups.

 No that's right. I am stuck with Crabtree all season. At least I didn't take Hernandez too.

kinda funny..our draft, both of them is over, no one will be commenting on this thread much again, until maybe when the season starts, but by then, I'm sure we'll have a new thread started for the actual season..yet it's stickied to the top..ha. You can probably un-sticky this one too GoldenSpur..it's lived it's life.

Glad you liked it, GS. For what it's worth, the regular Message Board Bragging Rights League thread that you initially stickied probably should be sticky.

Bucs K Connor Barth is out for the season after tearing his Achilles' tendon during a charity basketball game.
That would be me in the Coma league.

Interesting - I lost my kicker (Bullock) last year in the suicide before the season. Certainly not the position you would feel is most at risk. Better double up next year. .....
