It's funny, for as great a defenseman as Ray Bourque was, he sure gets toasted on some pretty big goals in NHL history :D

Most amazing part of the whole play to me is still the butt pass. The composure to control the puck like that while being tripped and falling down was amazing.

Well I guess if you can't celebrate your team winning the cup you might as well diss the team that prevented it from happening, eh? :laugh3:

No one is dissing any team. The thread is about the Mayday goal and the timing. It was a great goal in the playoffs by a player with the appropriate name.

Some how I knew the ole "You guy's have never won a cup " issue would come up. We get it we've never won the cup and oh BTW we've never won a SB either. LOL.

It was just a memorable goal that's it, nothing more, nothing less.

Edit:, I KNEW the part in bold would come up I just wish I had bet vCash on it.

Well when you play defense for 20+ years and are considered one of the best ever of course those lapses and "bad" plays will stand out. Thats the point only the bad ones stand out cause he was a beast of a defensemen.

For as many as these bad plays there are 50 awesome plays from the Hall of Famer Mr. Raymond Bourque.

I believe the comment was directed at the OP and his team. ;)

If that's the case I took it wrong. I just didn't see why it was necessary to piss on a post about one of the great playoff goals (and calls) of all time.

It's just a kick in the gut when fans of teams like the Sabres and Canucks do have a great moment in franchise history like this goal constantly get reminded that our teams have never won a cup. Trust me we know that.

Maybe it's me but I just don't get any enjoyment about rubbing fans face in it esp when the fans have nothing to do with their teams failures no more than the fans that have teams that have won had anything to do with their success.

Don't get me wrong I can take a jab every now and then no problem, but on the other had be prepared to take a jab back every now and then. It works both way's. I've seen some fans that can dish it out but not take it back.

I apologize if I over reacted for my comments but like I said lets see how it's handled when the jab goes the other way.

Life goes on, no biggie.

LOL, It would be more lively if the Flyers were playing the Pens and not the Islanders. No offense to the Islanders and their fans but there isn't enough hate in this series.
