I just heard Forte wants 4 mil per season. I know he is old but he only had one injury plagued season. P. Thomas is going to want at least 2-3 million so If we can get Forte for 4 million its not a big deal. Forte will have way more production than P. Thomas and C. Thompson for that matter.

Plus if you are the Cowboys who are in win now mode with Romo how can you pass on Forte?

Who cares what Thomas wants? We shouldn't even think about Forte and if we are entering free agency trying to prevent the Cowboys from a move...God help us.

The reason why Thomas was on the street is b/c he wanted 2 mil per season. My point is that Forte is better than Thompson and Thomas combined so I would grab him for 4 mil per season. Plus it would take him away from the Cowboys. We should look into Forte. 4 mil is fair for his production. I know he was hurt last year but so he ahs been durable throughout his career being the bell cow back. He would work perfectly with Jones.

Agan Dean if what you say is true, that Thomas was unemployed because he wanted $2 million and nobody was going to pay him that, what makes you say he'll get that and more a year later?

I agree DGfan that is just what he wanted. Forte for 4 mil per season is a steal.

I'm with gkekoa. Signing players to potentially keep them away from other teams, even as a secondary reason, is not the way to do business. That shit may be alright for teams who are in already and habitually in serious competition for division titles, home field playoff advantage and Super Bowl appearances, but the Redskins aren't there yet.

IF we get Forte we should be the favorite to win the division title again Breed. He wont cost much and would make the offense even better.

Of Course he would be a stop gap but he will make our offense very dangerous. You think 4mil is a lot of money for a pro bowl back?

30 is old for a running back. Sure some still keep producing but most are gone or diminished by that age.

I'd definitely sign foster on the cheap, he's great when healthy. Problem is he's coming off a torn achilles so all else equal I'd rather have Forte. But you're right that hes gonna be cheaper if available.

Foster will not have a full season anytime, so he would really need to be on the cheap

its crazy just to write this guy off. Just b/c he is 30 doesn't mean he is not a good player.

Forte is 30 with more than 2000 career carries and 500 receptions, no thanks. He gained 150 more yards than Morris last year on 16 more carries. Is that who you want to replace Morris with ?

I am against the move altogether for the reasons I mentioned previously. However - I also don't believe that the current Redskins should make just about any move for the reason you pointed out above ("it would take him away from the Cowboys"). We need to stop thinking along these lines. In this era various players are going to go to our rivals. The Redskins should be at a pt where they have enough talent to deal with the talent of just about any team.

I don't want all of the other NFC-E teams to be terrible moving forward. I have no issue with a division where most/all of the teams play well as long as the Redskins finish on top which they should have at least the possibility of doing for a very long time.

Yep - I realize that he didn't miss many games, but it certainly is a red flag. We all know the situation with RBs over 30 years old. Any time one of them misses games, slows down and/or is not in the plans of their current team that should indicate that any other team should proceed with caution. Why would anyone view this any other way?

Also - the difference with Thomas is that the Redskins have seen him up close for a considerable period of time so they are much better informed if they decide to retain him.
