no, its not a kinky public sex act

Former Capitals winger Matt Bradley: Alexander Semin ‘just doesn’t care’ - Capitals Insider - The Washington Post

Asked to describe the discipline problems without naming names:

Alexander Semin, above, “could easily be the best player in the league,” former teammate Matt Bradley said. (Toni L. Sandys - WASHINGTON POST) “I don’t mind saying Alexander Semin’s name, because he’s one guy who has so much talent, he could easily be the best player in the league, and just for whatever reason, just doesn’t care.

“When you’ve got a guy like that, you need him to be your best player, or one of your best players, and when he doesn't show up, you almost get the sense that he wants to be back in Russia. That’s tough to win when you’ve got a guy like that who’s supposed to be your best player not being your best player, or one of your best players."

Wow, this is shocking. At least now we have a source for when Caps fans defend him, I guess.

Defend him? I had a TRADE SEMIN avatar for awhile for christ's sake. "Trade Semin" is the most common phrase to appear in any Caps' GNT all last year. And this is exactly why. That kind of attitude is cancerous, and I wish they would have traded him.

You call me biased while being excited about some fodder to throw at Caps' fans? Yeesh. Swampy.

On the topic, good on Brads for his honesty. Maybe it will actually fire up Semin some, but I doubt it.

He also had some great comments on Ovi which seem right on the mark of what other former Capitals have said...

“Ovi has some growing up to do as far as taking care of himself and things like that, but as far as his want to win, he really does just want to win the games, and he doesn’t care if he scores or not. That isn’t an act. He’s a great guy, great player. I’d never say anything bad about him."

lol, Ovi does seem pretty immature, but no one can say he isn't passionate about winning. I love his style of play. Def one of my favs outside the B's.

Well we're all biased. I was arguing that you weren't being objective in that thread. Of course I love hearing that rival teams have these types of players. Why the hell wouldn't I?

Hope they keep him forever.

As for who defends Semin, I wasn't aware that it was the minority, but some do. Those are people I know in real life though.

It's no coincidence that Semin played some of his best hockey with Arnott, a proven leader, on his line. I have no problem with Bradley airing this out to the public because I'm sure it had already been discussed to death by teammates behind closed doors. Maybe getting this out in the open will help motivate him...probably not though.

That's not true. I remember a poster here that was the opposite of biased.

That's not what you said, let me remind you and make sure not to summarize your words myself in a way that favor my own position, as you have in another thread.

Wow, this is shocking. At least now we have a source for when Caps fans defend him, I guess.

You weren't excited that the Caps have a player who is lazy or unmotivated. You were commenting on the fact that this was some kind of fodder to throw in the faces of Caps' fans. THAT... is swampy.

I generally like Loki's posts, so I'm not sure where this is coming from. But I'll just leave it at that.
