Last year of his contract I believe. He has pestered the Bears GM'S the last 3 years for more money, even sat out training camp last season. Been nicked up, played hurt, but uncertain how much of his "injuries" were real. He caught an awful lot of passes, this is a great move for the Patriots in my opinion. If any coach can keep him straight, yours can. Edit: he is as good as any TE in the league not named Gronk.

Basically, the Patriots got Cooper and Bennett and a second round pick for Chandler Jones.

Like I posted on the main board. I think the Pats leverage this being a contract year. Show up, shut up and do what you're asked you'll put yourself in line for a big pay day whether with the Pats or someone else in 17. Be a distraction and join the BB dog house club. I think he'll be smart enough to go with the first COA.

I hope they are better than Gronk and Chandler. You just never know if a guy will grasp the offense.

By now, most of us have heard about the Ravens suggesting a new NFL regulation to eliminate the efficiency of BB's eligible/ineligible receiver. This rule change would require these players to wear jerseys defining their actual eligibility. Sort of like the police informing a group of drug dealers that they will be raiding their meth lab tomorrow. Anyway, if the NFL approves this rule change (entirely possible), there are some other changes I can see on the horizon.
1. In view of the unfair advantage the Patriots now have with Gronk and Bennett at tight end, both
players should have one hand tied behind their back to level the playing field.

2. To completely eliminate any chance of ball deflation, the opposing team will hold all footballs being used by the Patriots offense and release them to a designated official when needed.
3. To guard against any misleading and unfair plays being called by the Patriots, an NFL official will be stationed in their huddle and on their sidelines. Any play called by the Patriots must be cleared by these officials before being run on the field.
These rule changes should help to level the playing field.
