The Islanders host the Penguins tonight in a game that will feature a lot of AHL talent for both sides.

There's a very good chance G Al Montoya will make his Islanders debut. The former Rangers 1st rounder was acquired by the Islanders from Phoenix for a 6th round pick two days ago.

I've been disappointed in the the Islanders lack of physical play all season. I want somebody to at least let Talbot & the rest of the Penguins know there's another team in the building.

Whether it's Fleury or Johnson the Pens have the better goalie. Their defense is better as well. Grabner, Tavares & Moulson need to find a way to light the lamp.

Grabner would be leading the Panthers in goals this season. He's tied for the team lead on the Isles.

Sounds like it's going to be Johnson. He had a pretty decent game against the Isles last time out.


I'm not counting on a shutout, or a knockout but I expect it to be a good game.

The only thing Islanders fans can expect from their team is maximum effort. We know they'll give it all they've got. However with the goaltending situation it's going to be tough to win many games.

Montoya was the big pickup. Garth said he wasn't going to give up a good prospect to get a goalie. Nathan Lawson who isn't any better than Montoya will supposedly be back next week.

I don't think your goalie should be too concerned about Jordan Staal and 11 grinders. I expect this one to be a low-scoring game. Unless, Johnson has a bad night.

There is more offensive fire-power on the Islanders bench than there is on the Pens bench. Two months ago, that would have seemed to be a silly thought

I guess Koskinen is going to play back to back. I don't necessarily agree with this decision but he's only 22, he should be able to handle it. Besides he's probably still fired up after last nights performance.

I just keep remembering each time a team unveils its new rookie goalie, the Pens give him his first NHL win (ie, Price, et al). I'm just hoping to see a good work ethic tonight from the Pens. The work is what is going to make this team better.
