Well Locke turned that outing around. Ended up being a pretty good one, overall.

miraculously, with our top 3 rbi guys out, we score 7.

with our anemic and ranked 47th in a league of 30 1B position produces 4 rbi's.

Surprisingly enough, Pirates first basemen rank 20th in wRC+.

Well within striking distance of the Brewers now...month-n-half to go...whole lotta basaballa to be played from now to then.

Going to be a tight NL division race here.

They're so... average...

I don't know if we'd lose anything trying Lambo as the left-handed side of the platoon. We might gain some pop. Maybe even switch Pedro over there at some point. He's not been good, but he's been better than Ike.

Pedro's career wRC+ is 105, Ike's is 111. I never understand the thought of moving Pedro to first if you are moving him to first, you should also think about non-tendering him in the offseason.

The strike zone is low today.

And Russell Martin made an unreal throw to nail Yelich at second. Holy cow, it was perfect.

Gaby Sanchez is terrible. Just awful. He got off to such a nice start this year, too.

Why is Nix batting sixth? I know Martinez has to be eighth, because he isn't a Major League caliber hitter, but Nix has a reverse platoon split, hits lefties worse than righties, and against lefties has posted a -41 (yes, negative) wRC+.

That's abysmal.

That's beyond abysmal.

Polanco's only at 37, which is bad, but at least his value is positive...

Snider has actually hit lefties better than both Nix and Polanco this season.

But, that's not manager's convention...

First run across. It goes to the Bucs. Leadoff double for Mercer, wild pitch, and an error (probably) on the third baseman gets him in.

Polanco looked good on that swing. Nice to see him hit a lefty in a big spot. He's showing signs of coming around, making the adjustments.

That throw by Polanco. Right on the money, strong, and he started pinned against the railing, no momentum forward. That was impressive.

Bad baserunning on Salty's part, though.

No-hitter for Volquez gone.

The fact they put up 5 with Jason Nix and Mike Martinez in the lineup is amazing.
I feel bad that Polanco is stuck between them two in the lineup.

Justin Wilson continues the 1-hitter.

Yeah, I said that. Let that sink in.
