Mariotta or others

Mariotta seems to be the guy right now at the head of the QB class in next yrs draft. I havent really seen him that much. Is there another QB in college right now that is coming out that we might be interested in? I just think they are traits or something that show who might be the next Andrew Luck. I love Russell Wilson too and think he is right up there, however he has a defense and a great supporting cast. I just think its hard to judge a QB. Last year at this time- Bridgewater was supposedly cant miss- top 5 pick if not 1. I had never even heard of Bortles. Hell I even remember us talking about Taj Boyd as a first rounder. I guess what Im asking is what makes Mariotta stand out?? Is he a for sure top 5 pick?

We will be seeing one of those Sunday in Locker. I think he went 8th overall, but Gabbert and Ponder went in that class as well early. It seems like another too. The jury is still out on Locker.

Still early in the season but Jamies Winston is still rated higher then Marcus Mariotta.

Not sold on Famous Jameous just yet. His release reminds me of Leftwich some. He reminds me of one of those that will fall when the combine starts.

Mariota & Hundley are RS Juniors and will have graduated already, so they will nearly-assuredly leave.

Winston is a RS sophomore. So he could leave early, but has stated publicly that he will return (but who knows).

I think I agree . I try to watch them as much as possible. For some reason I never pay that much attention to Mariota. 14 always shows up though. My son loves him. Right now he is projected to go in the 20 range, but 3 other CBs are going before him. I have a feeling that will change. The guy on the other side was impressive last week as well- Hill

I really think it's a waste of time talking draft 1 game in. We have no idea where we end up. I understand according to nets we may be able to release Romo. However even his idea requires a large cap jump. I don't think it will be an option baring Romo's career is over. If I'm right I prefer Leonard Williams USA if we have a chance at him.

Well thats kind of what I meant by saying Mariota is top dog now. Last yr it was Bridgewater. No matter what place we finish, we arent in a position to miss. I think we are defense first no matter what.

Agree. .. just figured I'd mention the top D player since we are talking top of the draft and unless Romo hangs it up I think he's the 2015 QB due to his contract no matter how he plays in 14.

Too many needs to address on D, can't afford another miss like Claiborne. As much as I hate to say it, this team may have a top 5 pick even in a poor NFC east division. The defense is that bad and the offense has to protect the football which I'm not sure can happen with Romo at QB

Truth is it is early, but draft talk is always good. None of us know if Mariota will go 1st or mid 20's because leading into last season Manziel was considered a possible pick at #1 but we all know how the combine changes things, although I think in Marcus case it'll only solidify him as #1

I have bad news for those thinking Romo is done/gone next year.

He will be on the roster next year as well (unless some career ending injury happens this season)
