Well, that run was fun while it lasted... Bull pen stinks again while losing 3 straight...
They had a hell of an uphill climb as it was in a crowded field for that last WC spot. This sure hasn't helped them any.
My God, can Cishek get any worse?![]()
Can't keep giving them away. Blowing leads is a trait of a poor team. If this team has a prayer of getting into a WC spot then blowing leads especially big ones cannot happen.
At least this year they had a pulse up to the actual start of football season. Most years they are 6 feet under by the all-star break. So there's that.Speaking of uphill climbs they get to face Sale, Quintana, Darvish and Hamels in the next 5 days. Since things look bleak now, they will probably over or on life support after this road trip.
The silver lining is that in that stretch we will either win and get back in the thick of things or more possibly lose all four and put the final stake in this coffin of a season. Either way, two weeks till football.Speaking of uphill climbs they get to face Sale, Quintana, Darvish and Hamels in the next 5 days. Since things look bleak now, they will probably over or on life support after this road trip.
I believe you are correct. Not fun to blow leads.I want to say that's the 4th 3+ run lead blown in the last month by the bullpen
He isn't even arbitration eligible until 2019. He makes the MLB minimum. It would be inexcusable to let him go. Maybe he is a side piece in a larger trade, but that is the only way I see him leaving the Mariners organization. I doubt if he gets released unless his productivity really nosedives.I really hope that O'Malley is our super-utility guy next year. Between his clutch hitting and clutch defensive plays, he's earned the opportunity I think.
I'm looking forward to football season starting, too. It's a little selfish, but I really hate listening to Brock/Salk talking about baseball on my commute every day. They're so lost.
