Damn, almost had one there. Seems like the only thing Sam Fuld ever does is make diving or sliding catches.

Hope the bullpen is on tonight

Some teams just have a hard time bringing in crowds regardless of team performance. I went to a Tampa Bay Rays game a couple of nights ago and expected the lack of attendance to be the stadium (figured that was why they were pushing for a new one) but to tell you the truth I actually liked the stadium a lot and noticed a strong lack of fan support.

There's more to it than that. The A's used to draw pretty well until Al Davis absolutely wrecked the Coliseum by adding the extra seats. It used to be a pretty nice stadium but now it's like watching a game in a crater. If they win the anti-trust lawsuit and get the team moved to the south bay they'll have no problem drawing a crowd.

Has Oakland always had a hard time with fans? Seems in the past they normally pull in a good crowd
Well that stadium holds over 63,000 so regular season games in Oakland are probably always gonna look sparse. It definitely fills up for playoff games but this early in the season I remember it commonly looking pretty empty

I don't like the idea that whether a catcher covered the plate at any time without the ball is a play that's able to be challenged. Seems to me like challenging a holding penalty in football.

They drew well back in the day. Then Al destroyed a nice stadium and the team stopped spending money.

All the talk of the team moving hasn't helped matters.

Edit: Go beat me to it! Cheers.

2013 MLB Attendance - Major League Baseball - ESPN

For the record, The A's drew more fans that The Mariners last year. Makes sense, given their great performance last year.

Unfortunate for your Ms though; I love The Seattle ballpark.

Relative to team performance, the Mariners have had pretty decent attendance. If our attendance represented the team's performance the last 10 years we would be near the bottom of the league.

That's what they need replay for. That was embarrassing. Stevie Wonder saw that as a strike. They said it was the umps first MLB game behind the plate....should be his last.

Bullpen has walked 6 already tonight. That and Almonte's craziness has to be controlled. Horrible angles on line drives and base running is hard to watch at times. 3-0 though so I won't go to mad on him.

Not a good pitch there but Danny got away with it. Sucks though because every pitch has to be centered to get a fucking strike call!
