I think we rely too heavily on players who has passed their peak and we end up being disappointed in their performance.

Pretty clear at this point Felix should not be pitching in a 1 game WC playoff. Will Servais realize this? He's fine after he settles down but the first couple of innings are worrisome.

Well two years ago they set their rotation up to where it was Paxton not Felix who would've pitched in the WC game. They missed out on the playoffs but I think they've known for awhile Felix isn't the guy you want to have the ball when you have to win.

Agree, but I highly doubt they'd put him in the pen. They didn't have the stones to tell him he wasn't the opening day starter, doubt they have the balls to tell him Marco, Leake and Leblanc get the ball.

Healy gave it a good shot but got nailed going into 3rd. We need the add on runs guys to help the Pax man out in this game.

I understand what you’re saying but realistically, you realize that’s not going to happen right?

This is just a typical “what have you done for me lately” comment. Dude pitched his ass off his entire career for this club and never sniffed the playoff. They are not going to leave him out of a playoff rotation.

It has to be up to Felix to realize he’s done and advise the club what’s best. He probably earned that right.

True, but that is the mentality of a losing franchise. It obviously won't happen but for the year he has been the weakest player outside of Ichiro. Just because a guy has "earned the right in the past" doesn't mean he has earned the right for the present.
