Dude was pretty amazing, especially in his prime. Hated that guy because he would make crazy play after crazy play and they seemed to work (especially against my Lakers). But, no matter what, he was always fun to watch.

My favorite part of Ginobili's game was his world class defense.
His raw scoring, rebounding, assists, and stats dont pop, but they add up to something greater than the sum of its parts.
His defense was the same. It was outsized in its contribution yet not as easily noticeable to the layman fan or voters.
It was criminal that he never made an all-NBA defensive team.
Maybe he was overshadowed by the defensive titans on his own team (Robinson, Duncan, Bowen, Kawhi, Green).....
And maybe it was difficult to measure by the standard defensive statistical metrics and analytics.
But, in his prime, he was at times the best defensive player on those great defensive teams, even if he never got recognized with voters and awards.

When I moved to San Antonio 15 years ago I didn't like the Spurs or Manu, i'm still a Wolves fan first but I don't hate the Spurs anymore and I ended up liking Manu I think mostly because this town absolutely loves him.
