Seems like CA ought to feature Gwynn in RF.

My brother was born in NJ, but the family moved to Cali when he was about 1.
Give you 3 guesses where he says he is from when asked (and your first two guesses don't count).
True on both accounts, but Gibson is generally accepted to be one of the top few catchers in history, at least with the bat.And I could have put Josh Gibson at catcher, but I'm not sure how much I trust ***** League numbers. I'm also not high on dead ball era pitchers.

Hard to compare him, though when you have no idea about competition and you have the era factor to consider.
I hadn't realized the Olympics added "Argument Gymnastics" as an actual event, but well done.1. The planet Earth
2. The western hemisphere
3. The United States of America

Both Ted and Barry played a little early in their careers as well. The offensive step up would make it a no-brainer for whomever is managing the team.Gwynn did play RF though...

Gwynn played some Center as well. Maybe he would compete with DiMagio instead.
Barry played a total of 1 game in RF.
And if we're allowing swapping positions around, there around the turn of the millennium and after, I would have been more comfortable with Barry at first base than RF, even though he never played a game at first. Then you have room for Ted, Barry, Dimaggio and Tony Gwynn in the same lineup.
Yea. I am doing this on very little research. I have no idea who would qualify at other positions. I have peaked at BBRef to confirm certain players were "from" Cali (I was mistaken about Reggie, for example), but I knew to look up Henderson, Bonds, Williams and DiMaggio. I didn't think of Gwynn (although I don't think he belongs in the same discussion with the others). And that's also without me looking up who's the best 1B for CA that actually played first base.

Eddie Murray?
Alright, fuck it. The AA (actually, having finished the list, that's generous) Delaware Major League Team:
C: Chris Widger
1B: Paul Goldschmidt (born in Wilmington; moved to Texas at around age 3; but fuck it)
2B: Delino DeShields
3B: Hans Lobert
SS: Ken Szotkiewicz (only shortstop I could find. 47 games for the Tigers with a .103 batting average)
LF: Kevin Mench (went to the same high school as me in Wilmington. Also a UD grad)
CF: Dave May
RF: Cliff Brumbaugh (49 PA, .591 OPS)
SP: Chris Short
SP: Sadie McMahon
SP: Bert Cunningham
SP: Ian Snell
SP: Huck Betts

That's 20 minutes of my life I'll never get back. Thanks @Chewbaccer!
Sure, but I'd have to start naming guys from my high school team...No bench and no bullpen?
