That was a good read, mags. Thanks. :yo:

I have high hopes for Heredia. I think he's got a chance to do some big things with the Pirates. Reading that affirms my faith.

It is a very nice article, but I am beginning to have little faith in this organization being able to develop any difference making prospects. I have not had any faith in them developing hitting prospects for some time now, but this year I have begun to see that they are failing miserably with all of the pitching prospects they have signed as well.

Ended his season today. Apparently he's throwing 91-94, showing greater fastball command, and swapped his slow loopy curve for a harder biting one that gets more swing and miss.

He's 17.

Final line:

3-2, 61.1 IP, 7.5 H/9, 2.8 BB/9, 5.1 K/9, 0.3 HR/9, 1.141 WHIP, 2.93 ERA

The two bolded stats are the most encouraging to me. They indicate, I believe, that he didn't give up a lot of solid contact, even without having developed his swing-and-miss pitches to their fullest potential. As he grows and matures, it is conceivable his performance could get even better, even at higher levels.

This was an encouraging season for Heredia, in my opinion.
