So the NHL keeps piling money into the hole that is Phoenix in an effort to appease one retard who played hockey in high school, but doesn't bat an eye at moving another franchise? Who is supplying the hallucinigens to the NHL offices?

I mean, I've been to Atlanta and I understand wanting to leave quickly. It's like Baltimore with more of a sweat smell where everyone talks like the cast of deliverance. But still... WHY NOW? AND WHY NOT POHONIX?

Anywhoo, it opens the door for the Jackets to move to the East and spend up to 16 games a year beating the ever loving shit out of Ottawa, Toronto and Florida. And likely making the god damned playoffs for once.

Phoenix has been given more time to succeed (and failed at that), has had more playoff success with slightly lower attendance, and is in a smaller market... but the league is fighting tooth and nail to keep the team in AZ. But Atlanta can be booted at the drop of a hat? If anyone has a reasonable explanation, I'd love to hear it.

$$$ - 50 million of them. $25 million last season and $25 million for the upcoming season from the City of Glendale. Of course, the Coyotes lost close to $37 million last season, but as long as the City of Glendale keeps opening up the wallet, the NHL will gladly accept the funds. There was no such committment from the city of Atlanta to subsidize the Thrashers and nobody was willing to step up and buy the team.

How long Hulsizer will hang around for the Coyotes is anybody's guess...I'd start pouring the foundation for the new arena in Quebec City tomorrow because things are looking good.
