I would not complain if we lost 4 of the next 5 as long as they came oout and played a good game and just got beat.

Of course not to Iowa

Wow, just so unbelievably painful that at this point an 8-4 record might be "good" enough with the ease of schedule and the division being so down this year.....:(

We didn't just lose to Minnesota. We got BEAT DOWN by Minnesota.

I may be trying to be humorous but why in the fuck is there even any talk about him saving his job?

If Martinez remains "injured" the rest the year his odds go way up. Unfortunately every game we win with Armstrong or Kellogg will make me think of every game we lost in the last 3 years. If he had worked with Kellogg how many titles would we have now? How many BCS bowls would we of played in. This bullshit of Kellogg not being ready was clearly 1) a lie because 2) he was not working with him to be able to use him.

I can answer that...zero. Give a defense film on Kellogg and they will destroy him. He's just not a great QB. He can throw better, but he can't move, and he's really pretty one-dimensional. A real defense would eat him alive though.

There are a million (okay hundreds) pocket passers out there winning games. You don't have to be a track star to play quarterback. And he has picked up some yards on his feet when needed. He is a big dude.

All these years we've been told he just can't get the playbook down. I think that was bullshit and there is no way to know question was rhetorical but the team settles down and plays smoother with him. This may not of been in previous years but we will never know will we?

I have said all along when Martinez goes into meltdown mode he should be pulled, even if for just one drive, to settle him down for one but he might see something that clicks from the sideline too. Clearly that didn't happen with his six weeks off but if and I am saying if Kellogg was coached he may of been ready a long time ago.

P.S. I would rather have a guy that can throw but not good on his feet than a guy that is neither and that is exactly what we've had since Martinez' sophomore year.

Instead of pounding the square peg into the round hole Pelini should of been smoothing the edges on the round peg.

I understand that but he's not a good enough passer to be a pocket passer. I am sure that it is bullshit that he didn't know the playbook cause he's a smart kid, but I've watched him play football since 8th grade and he just doesn't have a high enough ceiling to be a starting QB at this level.

Well I hate to say it but Armstrong is not ready. Go ahead and start him but if Pelini has learned anything hopefully he learned if it ain't working don't force it.

I think Kellogg is the best we have and I think he has looked pretty good so far. Turn up the heat and see what happens.

I think if he doesnt have any more blowouts AND his defense looks competent 8-4 may keep his job.

Counting a bowl game, right?

Cause if he loses two more regular season, that's just 8 wins.

I just re-thought that, 8 wins after the bowl game could mean that that they would need a bowl game win to get more than 7 wins ~ just one above bowl eligible.

I hate to say this, but an 8-4 regular season would save Pelini's job in my opinion. I don't believe we will see 3 wins the rest of the regular season though.

lol thats what really sucks about our team this year , from game to game and sometimes play to play we never know what to expect

We DO have an unpredictable team, don't we? It's too bad that unpredictability doesn't translate to the field of play for our opponents.

Pops, if the first half of the season is a guideline, than the second half looks very bleak indeed!
