Actually this might be a good move for the shorthorns. As Shipley has a lot of ties with the high school programs out there plus his network of other school coaches and fathers, he will be a good recruiting annalist tool. Kind of funny though about another Shipley getting involved, but hey what do i know.

It shows that Mack is still very proactive.

The program seem reenergized with all the new faces and deep rooted recruiting people.

He is really integrated in the high school coaching circles and will be a HUGE asset.

The 2014 class is already ranked higher and deeper than this past class.

They have more and better players already commited than the entire 2013 class thanks to all these stud recruiter hires.

All these new recruiting hires are generating what looks like it could be the best recruiting class ever at Texas.

poooor aggie must be getting sick now..... I guess the reports of Texas recruiting demise were a bit exaggerated.

Teams like Texas just dont stay down too long. I picked TCU to win Big12 but by August I think I may be i Longhorns camp.
Dont the hookems return just about everybody except for a big Olineman?

Mack Brown has preached patience.
He told us way back in 2010 it would be 2013 when all these youngsters finally pay off.

Texas returns 20 of 22 starters from a 9 win team.

Nobody in the Big 12 has that much returning talent. TCU is close, but the rest of the league lost on average 11 starters.

Oklahoma, West Virginia, Baylor, Texas Tech, Kansas, Kansas State, and Iowa State are all graduating 5th year senior quarterbacks and starting new raw guys.

The last two years, Texas was the YOUNGEST team in the league for both years.

Finally, the Horns should actually have some experience edge over teams like OU and others.

Oklahoma will have a TON of TALENT. But, they will be young and new.

Freshman brand new OU will look sloppy the first half....they will be really good in the second half.

That should enable Texas to get back on top with an early october game.

I have to go with some people on here as much as it gets me down. With all the youth at OU and all the returners at UT, with the game being an early one, Texas will most likely win. It will be a battle, unlike the past few years. But i expect UT to win by 10. I dont like it one bit, but im one to look at reality.

"Experienced" "veteran" Texas team versus inexperienced Oklahoma team.

Translation: This October we finally might have a game that extends beyond halftime. :laugh3:

That's the deal....Mack brings in the easily out recruits OU no doubt about that. But what he does with his talent once they arrive on campus is just baffleing. Stoops is 9-5 against Brown.

Horn,

I see nothing has changed. Your post always come around to A&M. You sure seam to have alot to say about a team that isn't your rival (as you and other t-sips have said), isn't in your conference, and doesn't matter to you.

Maybe since the t.u. recuiting is all sunshine and rainbows (I know ya'll like the rainbow stuff there in Austin), your AD will have the stones to schedule the Aggies or atleast not whine and worm your way out of playing them in a bowl game.

Poor Gaggies... 1 good year and now Texas dont have the stones to play them...:laugh3:

Well, yes.

A&M offered to play t.u. anytime or place. Texas refused and came up with some :lame:BS about the OOC schedule being full.

Then when the possibility of and A&M/t.u. Cotton Bowl was on the horizion, Texas lobbies the Cotton Bowl to not invite A&M. Then when the final polls were released, Northern Illinois get high rankings from Texas and other Big XII schools and forces OU out of a BCS bowl into the Cotton.

That sounds like the horns are ducking the Ags.

Right now, A&M has more to lose than t.u. if the the two played, but the offer from A&M hasn't been pulled. If Texas was all you t-sips say they are, why not schedule the game?

Texas "If you leave, we will not play you"

A&M" We are leaving."

Texas "once again, before you leave, we are promising you that we will not play you."

A&M" We are leaving."

Texas "FIne, but even though we beat you 13 of the last 17 times and its a relatively easy win for us. We will not schedule you anymore."

A&M "We are leaving."

Texas "I know we just beat you on your home field, but we will not play you again if you leave."

A&M "We are leaving."

Texas "ONE LAST FREAKING TIME. If you leave, we will not schedule you."

A&M "We are leaving."

Fast forward 1 fifth place SEC season later and the 5th place trophy parade.

A&M "Why won't Texas play us?"

Texas (facepalms)
