I'm not fond of disparaging people with tattoos either, even if that person has a lot of them. I have plenty of friends with tattoos and quite a few with a lot of tattoos... the last thing I'd call them is a "hood rat" or "trash" or, as I've seen other people call Kaepernick, a "thug". There are folks in the military that get a lot of tattoos as well and I'm pretty sure most people wouldn't use any of those terms to describe them either.

:agree: we have to stop agreeing Dude....I think I'm getting sick. Lol

People can cap on his height all they want... Wilson will just keep marching down the field on there defense... the height thing is all they got... they have to find something to cap on because they definitely can't cap on his game... They'll see another display of that on Sunday night...

If they are going to compare them to others in the league then why not compare his performance to the rest of the league, instead of his height?

I just think it's hilarious that the height thing still comes up. He has demonstrated time and time again that his height is not detrimental to him while passing inside or outside the pocket. If anything you can make the case that his height has attributed to his escapability in the pocket due to the fact that he is not as easy to find as a 6'4 QB.

But hey, if we're going to label players by attributes that don't seem to impact their play, maybe we should start calling Colin Kaepernick trash because of his trailer park tattoos?

People do compare his performance to the rest of the league. In fact, I even just did. I just said that he's a good QB. When I say he's a good QB, I'm not comparing him to the average U.S. citizen, but to the rest of the QB's in the NFL. Soo....what's your point there?

You're making a generalization about guys with tattoos being trashy, which I wouldn't personally condone. I know a lot of good people with tattoos. If you want to make that generalization about Kap, I really don't care, I just don't think it's the most intelligent thing to say on your part. More so, exaggerating someone's height is quantifiable while exaggerating someone's "trashiness" really just looks more like you're judging him because of his ink. You do what you want, I just don't think that's very smart.

People are exaggerating his height when they call him a midget, something that is quantifiable. There's a very clear difference.

It's the use of the term "midget" that tends to rile people up. In terms of the average NFL quarterback, he's short, but people don't just say he's short, they say he's a "midget". Everyone knows he's several inches shorter than the average NFL quarterback. The only people who refer to him as a "midget" are the people who want to get under a Seahawks fan's skin because they have nothing else they can legitimately criticize about him. There's a way to reference his height without getting derogatory about it though.

Well yea, I agree. It's clearly meant to be derogatory. But it's still based on something factual - as you just mentioned, he's short for an NFL quarterback.

I was responding more to the reasoning behind why he's called that in the opening post. He will always be compared to other players at his position, whether it's used in a derogatory manner or not. Nobody cares what his height is compared to the average person. So whether it riles someone up or not, it's fair and accurate to say "Wilson is short" in that context.

referring to dred's question about trailer trash tattoos...

About 5000 years ago when somebody wrote down a law for the jews that he said he heard from god himself about taking no mark on your body. The trailer people can't read, so they giterdun anyways.

When did bible verses and references become trailer park-ish and trash? :laugh3:

The irony is that God wants our bodies to be temples which includes piercings and items that resemble tatoos. No, I don't have the scripture that specifies tatoos but I do know in Romans and 1Corinthians, the body as a temple is referenced numerous times.

The same goes for your homosexuality. Early in the book of Romans, God allowed men like you to wander into men to men relationships which are clearly forbidden. God's wrath is more about allowing people to wander away from him. I don't care who wears a tat or what people do in their spare time. The outward expression is a bit much for me but we all have our opinions and views.

I've been meaning to mention something that passes my "eye test" and have had for sometime regarding RWill but needed more corroborating evidence.

This video has 2 examples (late). It's this.

I'd like someone, anyone, to give me a QB they've seen in the past 30 years that can be running to his left, square his shoulders and fire a perfect, quick release strike as well as RWilson.

It may sound like a homer statement but that is one of the most difficult throws to execute and RWill executes it with ease. That is why you can't force him to go to either side when pressuring him. He will torch you from outside either side of the pocket = X FACTOR

He is fine the whole height thing is a non issue and one thing that some QB's have is holding the ball having small hands is not good for a QB i cannot recall which QB it was some years ago but he had a very hard time holding the ball and of course he did not last long.

This talk about small hands reminded me of the Burger King commercials where a guy was depressed about having tiny hands.

That's good, because despite all his fumbling issues the dude hung around for something like 17 years.

Russell Wilson has the biggest hands I've ever shaken in my entire life, dead serious and I've shook hands with some of the biggest Seahawk players (Walter Jones, Red Bryant, K.J. Wright)

Wilson's hands probably dwarf the hands of our boy Colon down in San Fran.

I know he played on a few team after leaving Seattle, but he didn't look right wearing a Kansas City uniform. I guess it just seems weird to me seeing Dave wear a rivals jersey. He's still one of my favorite Seahawks.
