It may or may not be true that SEC defenses are down, but looking at one team in one game doesn't prove that. Especially this one where the D actually played fairly well. Held them to 7 points, 12 first downs, 7 rushing yards.

Now, if you trolls really want to draw SEC conclusions from 1 game by UGa, you could definitely say the SEC special teams sucks this year. But, you can probably see how stupid it is to do that.

NTx scored 14 of their points on special teams. D held them to 7 points, 7 yards rushing, 12 first downs, too much passing, but 245 net yards.

Ugly game for sure, but the D didn't play bad. Special teams sucked.

has GA's special teams allowed a TD coming into today? but yeah, other than the two TD the GA special teams allowed that was a very, very impressive performance. GA's offense looked even more outstanding and GA fans have to be happy to see their D dominate like they did today (like you said, held NT to 0.3 ypc rushing for 7 total rushing yards in the game. should move up actually. but for two costly mistakes by the GA special teams (punt block returned for TD and 99 kick return), Georgia would have won 45-7. As it was, Georgia outgained NT 631 total yards to 245 which is as big as an asskicking as you can get. see above post too.

They won't move up unless someone above them loses. It was an ugly game in ugly weather. Other than terrible special teams, it would be what you expect of a Richt team against an inferior opponent the week before a game against LSU. I wish we blow these out more than we did, but we never do. Certainly won't move down.

let me see the polls. GA is #9/#10, i though they were lower than that. still think #8/#8 Florida State and #6/#7 Louisville are ranked too high... and LSU at #6/#7? you could easily swap LSU and GA out, but they play each other at Georgia soon, and Georgia should be favored to win that

it was anyones game for what 3 quarters...compared to what Louisville did to a similar team...not much of a drop but 11 or so....if other teams struggle with lesser teams then maybe not...Washington is up 42-0 vs Idaho st...if ucla and a&m blow out there opponents they deserve to move past them

well Georgia play very lack luster today. but i can see them not getting up for this game and thinking more about 3 top 10'er in 4 games. really wish Georgia could get a couple of tune up games to start the season instead of diving into top 10'er right away.

North Texas beat Idaho 40-6

Louisville played 0-4 Florida Int'l who is #117 in the NCAA in passing, #119 in rushing, #125 in points for, and #115 in points against... and has lost their 4 games by a combined score of 187 to 23 to the likes of Bethune Cook, UCF, etc
