oh come on now.....he was good, great for NU recievers. Compared to other D-1 schools, he was a dime-a-dozen wide-out.

Believe me when I tell you I am not knocking him. He was special with NU because of what NU was offensively when they had him.

I think that you think I am trying to argue that Fryar wasn't good. He was. He's the best NU has ever had.

The guy was a 5 time pro bowler, 2 time all pro....I know all this. I am aware he was drafted #1. So was Ryan Leaf. Again, not comparing him to Ryan Leaf career-wise but throwing out a #1 overall draft pick thing is kind of arbitrary, don't you think? Ask Tim Couch.

Irving averaged 50 catches a season. Went over 1000 yards 5 times in 17 years. Had 84 TD catches in 17 years (or just under 5 a season). I know that was a different time then than it is now in the NFL but come on now. He was good, but "gamebreaker"? Clearly, he was a possession reciever.

At Nebraska his high in catches was 40 (in our offense that was like a million). He had 8 TD's in his final season. That was all but 3 of his total recieving TD's in his career. He did have 2 rushing TD's as well his senior season bringing that season total to 10. That's 10 of his 16 total TD's. He had a great final season. No doubt. Was an All-American, drafted #1, had a long successful professional career.

Statistically speaking, you cannot argue that the guy was a gamebreaker. Well you can, but not successfully.
