It is definitely a rule. I remember in the late 90's players were doing it all the time. The league immediately put a stop to it and banned the gesture all together.

Actually, it could be construed that way. The difference is that being a manger at a pizza joint and being a big time player in the NFL are slightly different.

Goodell DID tell him not to do that, by keeping the rule in the rule book, lol, wtf are you even trying to explain, each time you just dig the hole deeper. I know what JDM is trying to say, he is just not explaining it correctly. An action done in the heat of the moment such as a celebration that is illegal is not necessarily insubordinate; it is a mistake. However, not listening to a superior telling you to do something, is not a mistake, it is a intentional act of insubordination. What Suh did is like your manager telling you not to swear in the office yet, you spill your coffee and in the moment shout out "oh shit". Direct insubordination is your manager telling you to go file those papers and you telling him "no" to his face. If you cannot see the difference in the two, you are mentally retarded. And I don't mean that as a message board flame troll type talk. If you can't see the difference between the two, you are absolutely 100% mentally retarded.

BTW, I bet Pizza Hut realizes although they had the right to fire the dude, it causes a shit storm of bad publicity far worse than the revenue they would have lost from having the one single closed that day when it should have been open.
