Looks like we signed WR Kevin Ogletree, who was released by Tampa Bay earlier this week.

Probably not a huge difference-maker as far as moves go, but he's big, very fast and plays special teams.

He had a good run in Dallas before signing with Tampa Bay this offseason. Given their current state of dysfunction a change of scenery can only do him good...

No word yet on who will be released to make room on the roster...

I actually like this pick up. They say he was ineffective in Tampa. Who isn't?

Who do you think gets the axe? My guess is Durham. I hope I'm wrong, I like having two big receivers out there (6'6 and calvin is 6'5).

:agree: Might be different with a Pimp throwing to him:noidea:. I was hoping it was Willis. Oh well. Lord knows Broyles just may be another busted pick.

If they cut Durham to bring in Ogletree then Mayhew should immediately be fired. Ford should have his car towed out of the parking lot and security throw his dumbass out a second floor.

It is also reported that Burleson is ahead of schedule and could be back by week 10. Pat Edwards is also back at practice too so I am not sure what they are thinking right now. Maybe just depth until Nate is back and in case any more injuries crop up.

If Romo can make Ogletree look good, Stafford should be able to make him look better.

I don't think anyone has too much to worry about. Ogletree is a slot WR, so I doubt they are going to cut Durham, who is Detroit's only real option on the outside opposite Calvin Johnson.

Too soon i think to say hes a busted pick but it sure doesnt help hes always either injured or coming back from a serious injury.

Not much of a risk in signing him. I kinda like the Pats signing Austin Collie better though. It's risk reward I get Collie has risk and Detroit has had enough of concussion prone guys but Collie could ball.

I think he is a depth guy and has a game very similar to Durham.

With the Bucs tanking in Tampa I wonder what the price for Vincent Jackson would be?

I don't think there's a fire sale. Schiano is likely fighting for his job. The friction between he and Freeman was probably taking over the locker room, and Freeman's play made the decision to release him easier. And Oagletree was obviously a disaster for them. The dude came in as a March free agent acquisition pegged for their #3 receiver spot, and was so bad after just 4 games that they basically paid him to leave. Unreal.

Another recent signing who survived the regime change. Ogilvy has actually made some serious strides within the offense this year and is in an impressive battle with Broyles for the #3 WR role.

We'll actually be able to go 4 wide with 4 legit NFL receivers this year...

Be nice to see him make a difference.

Albeit I don't like that FA pickups that out perform guys from the current roster at the time. Shows the issues the old coaching staff had developing kids. Hoping new regime can develope some old picks and new.

Not talking FA pickups like Tate and such. I mean Mathis and the likes
