Whether a depth move, camp body or a Darryl Tapp/George Johnson move I am fine with it because of Austin. He seemed to get the best from his players who were not stars. Not sure if Austin is that coach we normally see on other teams that turn under performing players into contributors or not? After seeing his scheme do that with lesser known talent I will not question defensive acquisitions.

Now Mayhew and Caldwell start bringing in offensive guys of same magnitude for Lombardi, my eyebrows will rise.

Also as mentioned elsewhere here. In order to keep Suh and give a big contract. These types of low money contracts are needed to fill the roster. Hopefully the scouting department has found a gem.

I think they are expecting that Tapp may not be back. This guy is a clone and could excel as a role player in Austins defense.

Worked with a mean bitter woman at a factory and had her page Mike Hunt on the PA. She had no clue until she was about to page a third time and someone let her know. Good thing she did have a sense of humor I never saw.

Are we going to sign his brother Michael too?

[edit] beat me to it.

Gandy, get this same woman to page all of the Moe's Tavern names. Start with 'last name Jass, first name Hugh'.

Micro, your avy is in red ? any particular reason ? I really liked the miniature Stafford avy. or am I missing some possible sarcasm here in thinking some posters are seeing/feeling nothing but red-hot being pissed off because of not tagging Suh.

Your eyebrows must be crawling down your back by now.

Gandy years ago when I worked in a bowling alley we used to get that crank phone call page along with Jack Meekhof.

Had a kid call me once and ask me if my refrigerator was running? So, I answered yes my fridge is running. He told me I better go catch it. Before the era of smartphones a crank call was about all you could do with a phone as a kid to have fun. Not the case these days.

Unless you called a 1-900 number. Then mom whooped your ass rather bad. Not that I would know anything about that though.

I'll never forget the exact moment I discovered Call Id had been invented.

It was aboot 1:30 in the morning on a Saturday Night/Sunday morning, I was in my buddy Cheyne's living room, and the phone rang, there was a really pissed off dude on the other end. Who swore he wasn't a psychic.

Don't remember when I discovered *67, but junior high weekends got fun again when I did.

Congratulations to Phillip Hunt on having his own thread on the Lions Board.

Lot of posts for a guy who wont play this year. Looks like it is just a futures contract. He will most likely take Tapp's place after this year is my guess.

We could start a thread titled "what's your favorite color of the rainbow?"
It would get 1000 posts and only mention colors 12 times.

I share your frustration. The whole going off topic on every single thread is getting tiresome.

George Johnson was signed to a futures contract last offseason. All that really means is that these guys are able to be brought in to compete during camp at very low rates of pay under a salary-cap loop-hole kind of thing. It definitely doesn't mean they can't or won't play this season.

Dr. Evil-er probably understands it much better than I do and can explain it much better than I am.
