And Houston has struggled on the road. They are 26-37.

Let's hope that trend continues. They finish on the road in Seattle, but who knows if Seattle will be playing a bunch of scrubs by then. We need to take care of business before then.

Many of us already knew Maddon was a really good manager when Joe Maddon was managing at Tampa Bay but he has reinforced that tenfold with what he is doing in Cubbyland. I remember a few years ago when Tampa Bay lost so many players and everyone figured they would be at the bottom and they still made the playoffs.

With Seattle much of that is who Seattle has pitching in those games. If Iwakuma, the good Tijuan Walker and the King Felix who faced us (as he seems to have struggled against everyone else lately) then they have a shot against the Astros.

I got a hunch they shut at least two of those guys down.

I just wish they'd lose some more games at the juice box. Hopefully, they continue to suck on the road tho. The Twinkies can help us a lot the next week and a half. They play the Astros 5 times in that span. We definitely need to win when they are playing each other.

Thanks.....I totally missed this.

And I've got no problem with the approach either. Whichever one he feels the most comfortable with, so be it. From the results of last night, it would shock me if Chris didn't get every game from here on in with Cole.

Kelly was making this point earlier today.
Banister said something very close to the exact opposite of that in Spring Training I believe. We discussed on here how refreshing that was. I guess we will have to be less refreshed.

Mazara was 3 for 4 last night with his first homer in AAA.

I don't remember the exact quotes or attitudes from ST. However, it sure wasn't an accident that Corporan was Wandy's personal catcher. Strictly by design.

He's plowing through the minors at a fairly rapid pace.

Hope he plays well enough to force his way into the decision making process come ST.

It was regarding Yu not having to have a personal catcher. Banister said he was opposed to that kind of a thing and some of us remarked how glad we were and that after Wash wouldn't let Chirinos catch Yu last year it was refreshing to hear Banister say that.

Yea, me too. Didn't think he would do this well against AAA pitching to begin with. If he keeps this up, it will be interesting to see what they do in ST.

That decision might have to be made well in advance of ST like the decision to bring Elvis up when they did. Kind of like they did with Kinsler before Profar was supposed to take over at 2B. If nothing else they would definitely have to clear Choo out via trade and then have an alternative ready to play LF and then say it is a competition between Mazara and whoever else.

I wonder how fast Brinson will continue to advance since he hit the ground running when he got to Frisco. Delino might not be able to afford to have the kind of sophmore slump like Odor had at the beginning of the year.

Know what.....I do remember this now.

Thanks........good pick up.

I don't really have a problem with the personal catcher so much, especially under our circumstances. After all, it's not like Yu or Hamels would be saying, "I'm not throwing to Pudge."

However, I certainly wouldn't keep a guy on the team who had a "one pitcher to catch" roll.

I think I would understand it for a guy like Hamels coming to a new league if there was a vast amount of experience level difference between the two catchers. Then I could see him wanting the guy with more experience in the league. Our catching situation could change a lot between now and the end of the year and then again by the beginning of next year. It might not be wise to get too used to having to have a certain guy behind the plate.

In situations like this I think sometimes the overwhelming amount of superstition in MLB might play a part, but that wouldn't be the case in this particular incidence I wouldn't think.

The top 4 levels of our organization had some very good pitching last night. Between the Rangers, Express, RoughRiders, and Mavericks we gave up a combined 3 runs on 21 hits. Looking past Hickory we see that Spokane gave up 0 runs on 1 hit in the second game of a double header and the Arizona League Rangers gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. I don't know when I have seen such a very good widespread pitching night across the organization. Even Hickory only gave up 4 runs. On top of that our DSL team only gave up 2 runs.

Encarnacion drove in 9 runs today vs Detroit, the Jays won 15-1. That team is hammering baseballs and to think we could have taken 2 of 3 vs them
