I'm serious. I would take this team into the playoffs and feel confident.

There is a little more excitement because of the front 7 (6) defensively. Two young studs on the inside, three really good linebackers and Sweat. That was the identity that got us to the super bowls in our lifetimes, most likely the biggest reason I cant get behind the Fields and put 100 million into the offense to support him.

We could beat the Lions and some of the other .500 fringe playoff teams though. So maybe we could sneak a win in the divisional round with homefield? DESTROYED by the NFC Championship though. And I mean absolutely demolished. Best case scenario.

Yeah, I'm not yet ready to declare we're a good team, period. I do feel the past X number of weeks we've shown we have the makings of a playoff team. There's some real talent on this roster and it's largely driven thru youth. But we need more talent and consistency, especially on offense. Poles could possibly have another batch of young studs coming up in this draft, depending on the actions he takes in both free agency and the draft. I think we're in pretty damn good shape for next season and seasons thereafter.

Justin Fields is the most beloved "has never done anything that special" quarterback in the history of the league IMO. I mean, it's hard not to like the guy, but there's no actual on field production to justify the love he gets.

I went to the Atlanta game last year. The one we lost with Justin getting hurt in the last drive. Atlanta fans weren't oohing and ahhing over him. Matter of fact, the most memorable comment I remember is one guy looking at my family and I in Bears gear walking by in the parking lot after the game was over and saying "Man, that QB of yours ain't did sh*t" and then he laughed like a hyena. I laughed too FTR...It was hard not too.

The talent is there, we just need to learn how to close some of these damn games.
