Good to hear as I was concerned. It may be a matter of the guy just learning how to manage his weight in the offseason.

He looks like some over-the-top fan. Not sure about his height but from this clip he sure does not look like an NFL player. I would hate to see him when he puts on weight. Oh well - who cares what he looks like as long as he can get the job done.

All that would really matter is that he's in shape for the season. But if he wants to prolong his career he really needs to start taking off season conditioning and dieting seriously.

Not only his career but his life in general. Too many stories of these huge ex-NFL lineman dying young.

I imagine to some degree alot of the linemen struggle with keeping their weight managed during the offseason..but that isn'y necessarily a good thing to show up to camp out of shape.

If I recall, didn't he gain a massive amount of weight at SMU (like up to 375-400 lbs or something??) before getting it together and trimming back down?? Obviously he is a hard worker to get that weight back off so quickly.

Yes, he did have that issue at SMU. The question is does he become lazy in the offseason when no one is overseeing him? If so, this is not a good sign. These types rarely reach their potential as they just don't do enough during the offseason to improve their game. Also, as he gets older, it will be harder and harder to get that extra weight off in the last 9 weeks of the off season (as many of us can attest to).

Good points. Very true.

I haven't heard anything spectacular about him since he was drafted, so I am not sure he will turn into a long term starter anyhow. Only time will tell.

I don't think anyone has, but to be fair, he's a guard. No one ever hears anything spectacular about a guard, particularly a backup. I think it is really hard for any of us to judge the depth on the o-line from last year. The starters stayed pretty damned healthy all season, so we didn't get to see much, if any, of the backups.

Actually, He played pretty well when he got the chance. He got burned a couple of times early, but then settled down. He has potential, the question is does he want to work to develop that potential. The good ones get better in the offseason.

when it comes to josh . i think he can be a quality starting OG or center for us but the question becomes is how long will his career lat if he doesnt work out like he should ?

CP may have lasted longer if he worked out early in his career

CP had a productive career as a RB. he outlasted the RB shelf life of 3-4 years

yeah but shanahan stated that if he had worked out more instead of that last season he could have had more

that is the take from it

the same could be said for FAt Al and DMAC .

I hate to say it but I think the LeRibeus pick was a waste. Look, if you can't beat out Chester by year 3 after being a 3rd rounder, then obviously the Skins over valued LeRibeus. No one in management wants to admit that but it is what it is...

He was drafted last year, so this is only his 2nd season about to start.

he was drafted last year and also came from a small school. its pretty much understood he's a project at this point.

I think its too early to say if he was a wasted pick. He is entering his second year, and played well at the end of the season when Licht got hurt.

that was the knock on him in college. that he does not stay in shape. I think he is the 3rd guard on the depth chart behind Litch and Chester.
