If the money was similar then I find this disappointing. The Bengals way overpaid him last year, probably in part to show that they "take care of their own". Again, I don't know the particulars (might not ever know) but...it would be tough to stomach him passing up a similar deal here. We all know he is limited at this stage but he was very good still in the slot with a chance to get some Safety work.

Could be that he didn't think the coaches would play him as much as he wanted.... Maybe he felt they were phasing him out.

Or maybe his wife wanted to live in New York.

I have no issue with this. The guy was a good player here, but by the end of last year, he lost his slot position. He's simply not fast enough anymore. I wish him well, but I'm ok with him not being here.

We'll be fine. Even if Jackson misses the season we have A. Jones, Kirkpatrick, and a combo of Dennard and Shaw as the nickel. More injuries will obviously change things but Hall wasn't going to the see the field enough to warrant bringing him back in a role he would accept.

Same thing happened with Reggie Nelson earlier this offseason. We have young top round players that need to see the field.
