I'll say this for west coast games, it's quite enjoyable to wake up and see a win on the books.

Which is exactly what I did.
And upon seeing Perez tossed 7 shutout innings, I thought I was dreaming.
Understandably so.......But he's pitched well enough this season the Rangers will almost certainly pick up his option. At least I think so.
He's pitched well enough of late. If he has a good September then yes it's a certainty. It probably was before, but he's been pretty awful this year and had it continued, I would've been OK with moving on.
truth but in reality if we don't go after at least one qualty starter Perez will probably be our #2 next season. And I'm not talking about some medical retread like Ross and Cashner but 1 of the top rated starters like Arrieta, Darvish etcHis ERA has been on the right track in the 2nd half, and his W to K rate is approaching 2-1, which for him, is well above acceptable. And, this is very important to me, he'll be 27 when next season kicks off, and his cost is really fairly inexpensive, in the grand scheme of things.
And lastly, we need starters for 2018 in the worst kind of way. If he can pitch semi-effectively enough to be a solid #4, I'll take him for another season. We can always re-evaluate then.
