just glad Demitra's not on the team anymore.
from the current roster, I'm thinking Bieksa ($3.75m) Hordichuk ($775,000).

Bieksa just has too many mistakes in his repertoire, and Hordi is largely redundant in his 4 minutes per game.

This is a tough one.

Brendan Witt had 5 points & was a -18 in 42 games last year while making 3 million. They bought out the final year of his 2 year 6 million dollar deal this offseason.

My pick however is Trent Hunter. He has 3 years at 2 million per remaining on his contract. Last seson he scored 11 goals 17 assists 28 points in 61 games. He doesn't fit coach Scott Gordon's system. He misses at least 20 games per year with injuries as well.

Honorable mention Chef Bruno Gervais. With any luck he will be in the pressbox a lot this season. If not opponents will rejoice in using him as a pylon as they did last year.

I know the easy answer for the Islanders is Dipietro but I'm going with players I actually believe will play this season.

not really answering the question here but if this were an NHL trade between 2 teams wouldnt it be considered lopsided:

Raffi Torres and Manny Malhotra for Kyle Wellwood and Ryan Johnson

yeah I was thinking more just last season not upcoming season. for all we know Bieksa returns to his good form. Hordi for $775K is just meh on everything. nothing good nothing bad.

Huet isn't going to count against the Blackhawks cap this year. So how is he actually hurting your teams roster?

I think we all have to count it against last year. no one knows what anyone will do upcoming. if I was to project who would be most disappointing for the upcoming season and get it right Id win the lotto :)

but Im scared that luongo getting $10M and having a season like last year would be really sad to see. (playoffs I mean)

in the whole league I think Kovy will be the biggest free agent bust with all the media attention to his contract. something just smells like crash and burn for him

I thought it was last year. Either way the Hawks are still paying him, and the question is bang for your buck not cap space.

Its got to be the Kostitsyn brothers. Sergei is an ass both on and off the ice. Andrei showed promise one but has regressed two years in a row.

He didn't cost the Penguins much in salary but i would have to go with Alexei Ponikarovsky. Watching him play with the Leafs all of those years i wanted him on the Penguins bad.

Watching him float through 15 or so regular season games and 13 playoff games makes me want to put a bullet in his head.

Rathje, I think he played like parts of a season(maybe 2) and has been collecting a check ever since. He is finally off the Flyers payroll though.

Niklas Wallin sucks up 2.5M in salary while being very mediocre.

Uh, I mean he is fantastic. Anyone want him?
