Late to the party, but it's 4-1 Leafs in the 3rd period - Is Randy Carlyle on the hot seat?

Team has tuned Randy out - I don't care that he got an extension this summer - his coaching is falling on deaf ears - when you lose the locker room, it's time to go

I wouldn't be surprised. He's been their quite awhile. The problem is the Ducks have nothing on their bottom 2 lines. The defense is awful & Hiller has been pedestrian this season. Ellis should be playing more. Their record isn't a misprint. The Ducks really are that bad.

My wife would like the Ducks to fire Randy now. She will personally drive to his house and hand him a pink slip and a farewell cupcake. Even if they don't have anyone to replace him.

She is a little upset at the Ducks record

Nice to see we showed a killer instinct tonight against a team not playing very well. These are the types of games the Leafs would have lost the last few years.

He should be. I was actually happy when Whaaandy got that extension in the offseason. One less team to worry about in the Pacific for the Sharks.

That said there's still time for Anaheim to get things turned around this season. I know there's the argument that there's no one out there who could do a better job, but I remember Pittsburgh pulling Bylsma out from their asses a few years back and look how well that turned out. Anaheim needs new blood, no question about it.

At least Bylsma had things to work with. Anaheim just isn't very good, plain and simple. After Perry, Ryan and Getzlaf, that team is as thin as toilet paper, especially on defense. The Leafs' speed and forecheck tore the Ducks apart tonight.

Not to nitpick or anything, but Teemu is playing pretty good.

That's just assumed at this point! :p

He and to a lesser extent Corey Perry are the only good things going. Perry's numbers look bad because Getzlaf and Ryan (who was moved off of the top line) have been ugh, but he's still going to hit 40 goals just because of his individual efforts like last night's.

RPG needs some overhauling, because they are a defensive blackhole lately, and even Lydman is having a serious drop-off in that regard. If Koivu can handle the minutes, I think he should be eating up some of Getzlaf's TOI on the top line right now.
