There's bound to be a degree of chance when only one or two people are involved in choosing a new coach. I tend to agree that it would be nice to have a coach who has experience as a HC. However we're not as hot a ticket as we once were, I hope the AD doesn't settle for an unproven guy just to save some money, again

Not to sound snarky but if we were still "hot" we probably wouldn't be having this discussion. The team we have right now is not lacking for some talent. Given the right experienced HC he'd probably finish off with a better than average recruiting class. We have excellent facilities, an excellent loyal fanbase comparable to none, and all we need is to (ahem cough cough) offer the right amount of $$$ to the right coach. No choce from the pros & no more hiring asstants. After all we were damn lucky just once in doing that in hiring an assistant (TO).
