Well, honestly, I'm happy he is gone. Nothing personal against the guy. The coaching staff fell a little too much in love with Lance, IMO. No reason for Elliott to be on the sideline in key 3rd down situations in favor of Dunbar if you ask me, and that happened a bit last year. This team doesn't need to save a roster space for a guy who can't stay healthy and contributes so little on the field - Dunbar's impact most weeks is literally nothing.

I guess I'm being harsh, but that's just how I see it with Dunbar.

I agree and see it as addition by subtraction. Elliott is just to good of a blocker and pass catcher to be standing on the sidelines on 3rd downs. Dunbar is a great story coming outta North Texas and I wish him much success.

I know they were rumored to be looking to trade Morris. I'd be letting McFadden go, keeping Morris and looking for a young guy to be #3 and play STs. I'm sure they will draft one late or bring in a few UDFAs

I agree big time. Morris is steady, smart, seldom fumbles and stays healthy for the most part. I also expect them to find a young guy to fill the 3rd RB role.

mixon in the third if there, would be a great pick up to back up Zeke and be that change of pace back.

Running Back Darren McFadden Signs One-Year Deal To Remain With Cowboys
Thursday, March 16, 2017 1:43 PM CDT
FRISCO, Texas – On the same day running back Lance Dunbar left for the L.A. Rams, the Cowboys re-signed running back Darren McFadden to a one-year contract Friday.

McFadden became an unrestricted free agent after spending the last two seasons in Dallas. He led the Cowboys in rushing in 2015 (1,089 yards) but missed the first 13 games of the 2016 season following elbow surgery.

Activated from the Non-Football Injury list on Dec. 13, McFadden appeared in the final three regular-season games and the divisional-round loss to the Green Packers. Playing behind NFL leading rusher Ezekiel Elliott in all but the regular-season finale at Philadelphia, he had 24 carries for 87 yards and three catches for 17 yards over those four games.

Dunbar, who spent the first five years of his career in Dallas, agreed to a one-year deal with the Rams.

In addition to Elliott and McFadden, the Cowboys have veteran running back Alfred Morris signed through the 2017 season.

Should have kept Jackson from 2016 draft.

He will be easily replaced.

Strange love for a bunch of short passes in a few games to start the 2015 season.

The Dunbars of the NFL are not hard to find. For example, it doesn't appear the RB from Nebraska - Terrell Newby will be drafted. I can see him fitting in on quite a few rosters as a third RB. He also compares to NE's James White. Sign him or another guy after the draft

Not interested in Dunbar at $3 million. The Rams might find he looked a lot better behind the Cowboys OLine than theirs
