It seems that they get worse every game instead of improving.

The important thing this season is seeing improvement in the youth. I thought they played well yesterday. Just think about when they are getting a few more shots once Kobe retires. He again led the team last night with 20 shot attempts.

I agree it is all about young. Kobe is going to just keep shooting.

Kobe 7 for 20 last night.

Sad thing is, this year, that's actually a pretty good game for him. :L

At least Kareem, Worthy, and some others did not consistently embarrass themselves like Kobe is doing. I agree with the NBA people. It is difficult to watch a man who is too stubborn for his own good. This could be real ugly by the All-Star break.

Yeah, they retired at pretty much the exact right time. To be fair to Kobe, we have to remember that the last time he played a full season (or real close to it) was the Dwightmare season when he almost singlehandedly dragged the Lakers into the playoffs before tearing his Achilles.

In his mind, that's how good he still is. It's his only frame of reference. He didn't get to see his skills slowly decline so that he could get out at just the right time like Kareem and Worthy.

Kobe admitted today that his legs are not what they used to be. Perhaps he is finally considering the inevitable.

Apparently he just made it official that this is his last season.
