This is the best series of round 1 on paper and these are also the 2 hottest teams in basketball for the last month at least. Clippers enter this series winning 14 of 15 and the Spurs enter this series winning 14 of 16.

yeah this was an unlucky draw for the clippers Ive said that whatever team ends up with the spurs in the first round is going to be in for it. The clips are a good team I would hate for them to lose in 5, hopefully this series will be more entertaining

I'm a little surprised by people thinking this a cakewalk for SA. Looked to me last time I saw the Clippers that Griffin returned at pretty high level of play. The Spurs have obviously built up a lot of playoff credibility, but I think the Clips have a legitimate shot in this series. I fully expect them to take at least two games.

Sadly, as a SPURS fan, I though this was the worst possible matchup for SA.

I think they can beat everyone in the west (including Golden State)....but I am not sure about the Clippers.

They are the one team that I cannot quite figure out what to expect.
The SPURS dont handle unknown expectations that well.

It won't be easy.

I am going with a very tepid prediction Spurs in 6 games, because I dont think they can win game 7 on the road.
But, I wont be surprised if they lose to the Clips.

The Clips best shot is that the Spurs sometimes start slow in the playoffs. Dallas took them to 7 games last year before they went on their tear through the playoffs.

If the Spurs start slow and the Clips can grab the first 2 games at home, they will gain confidence and the Spurs will be in real trouble.

Probably because folks know that each team will face some sort of adversity and we know the Spurs will remain steady while the consensus is that the Clips will meltdown.

I don't most people on here watched the clippers much this year. Seems like everyone think it is the same team from 2 or 3 years ago.

Clippers were the most efficient offensive team in basketball this year.

They also won the final 2 games this year including a 20 point spanking in San Antonio against a completely healthy spurs team. I just don't see San Antonio winning 2 of 3 in LA which is what must happen in order for the series to end in 5

That was the regular season. This is the playoffs. The Clips have not shown that they can carry their regular season success to the post season. The Spurs have.

Different team and improved Blake/DeAndre

Last year they carry it over into the playoffs. They were a bad call away from having a close out game against OKC at Staples to head to the conference finals. They only had one bad playoffs run since Doc came there imo

The Spurs dominant performance in the Finals last year (and it was a complete beatdown)... has people giving the Spurs a little too much respect, IMO. I mean, that's the correct side to err on with this group, for sure, but worth mentioning.

People forget the Mavs gave them a tough 7 game series last season. The Clips, who are playing very well, giving them a long series would be far less surprising than that.
