They're 7th in the majors in pitching WAR (Fangraphs). They have a team ERA of 4.45, which is awfully good for a team pitching half it's games at Coors (their 113 ERA+ is the 3rd best in the NL behind only LA and Arizona). This could go down as the best pitching staff in Rockies history. They also just got Jon Gray back a week ago.

The offense is a bigger issue. They're scoring runs, but that's because of Coors. Their 85 OPS+ is 11th in the NL. Carlos Gonzalez might be the worst player in the NL right now.

I said that without really looking. I just saw that Gonzalez had been worth about -1 WAR. A sub-70 OPS+ from a corner OF is atrocious, especially one that isn't a good defender.

CarGo is a great choice I just needed to remind folks of the shittiness of the Giants.

CarGo does have the worst WAR among position players per Fangraphs (-1.5). Angels have three of the bottom ten guys (Espinosa, Revere and Pujols).

Kudos to Bud Black though for giving him a chance to get the no-no despite the high pitch count. Other managers could learn a lesson from him!
