They've only played three top ten teams, and we know they aren't as good as Baltimore and the Steelers own them. I think your judgement is a little harsh, though I do understand the impatience because of the years of suckery.
Dalton's overall numbers are those of a top ten quarterback this year. I'm not saying he's top ten yet, but he's coming on.
