i doubt someone will say he is going to sign unless he will. i have heard rumors of he will sign he or there although nothing like this. actually that new york report said jersey signed him so who knows.

i certainly trust a canadian broadcaster more than a NY paper though...the fourth period confirms that a decision has been made, but doesn't know the team.

I’m aware of the Twitter report from Rogers Sportsnet’s Daren Millard that the Kings have won “the process” for Ilya Kovalchuk and will announce tomorrow. No confirmation yet. One strong team source has just said that there is “continued engagement,” but that no announcement is imminent. Updates will be forthcoming if necessary.

dav, for you i really hope he goes to LA. LA is due for a big splash...and really kovy could put them over the top. that and Quick/Bernier playing to their full potential.

Well the talk is 15 years 100 mil. cap hit 6.67. If that is true then it give him his 100 mil but he will be over 40 if he stays the whole time. I am sure the league will look at something like that much like Hossa. Tomorrow could be an interesting day.

i think it is a good deal for now. just not for later.

as far as gagne goes i have heard a number of teams. rangers, islanders, lightning, and king. the kings seem like they will not get him now. as far as the ranger and islanders, the flyers might trade him in the division if they are not afraid of the rangers and islanders being much better. i actually think there are a lot of teams.
