Maybe the Kings should put in an offer sheet for Bobby Ryan. That would certainly ruffle some feathers with the Ducks.

Until Kovy signs things could change.
If LA is out how do the Flyers make it work? While their team is arguably better than the Kings, right now, they are also closer to the cap.
That leaves the Ilses. A team working its way up, but does Kovy make them a contender?

the flyers already decided to move gagne who makes 5.2 mil. if they move coburn, carle, meszaros, hartnell, or carter then they will have room. i do not really want kovalchuk though.

I agree 100%. Let him go play for the KHL. He's not worth more than Ovie or Sid. It's just another case of a prima donna athlete thinking he's worth more than he is.

True. Here's the big question for the Kings. Is Lombardi just posturing? I tend to doubt it because Gagne wouldn't waive his no trade clause to come to the Islanders I guarantee you & anyone else that. Gagne also wouldn't waive his no trade clause if a deal hadn't been close to being done either.

Dean plays hardball and low ball. The thing that I find strange is the Kings have a internal writer/blogger and Dean bypassed him to go with the LA times. Don't know if it means anything.
I am guessing that Kings offered 8 mil (maybe less) and Kovy's side leaks that the Ilses are offering 10 mil hoping to get the numbers up. Kings countered with more years at 8. Kovy pointed to 10 mil. Kings leaked this story. There have been no leaks as to what NJ is offering so I have no clue what they are doing.

With all the former Flyers guys in the Kings ranks a deal makes sense. If the Flyers get Kovy they will need to get rid of salary. Gagne makes sense for them, but the Kings should not give up Bernier. I am not saying Bernier is a goalie god,(7 NHL games over two years does not a god make) however the Kings have been holding this goaltender as THE goaltender. IF they traded him people would return season tickets. Quick could go.

why would the flyers have to get kovalchuk in order to trade with the kings? kovalchuk to philadelphia makes no sense. they have giroux, leino, and carter who need raises. also jvr in a year i think. i say they trade gagne for a young winger under a rookie contract and sign turco to a one year deal then next year bobrovsky, backlund, or ericsson would be the goalie.

Who else along with Gagne would be coming to LA? The Flyers are only 500 grand under the cap. There is no way in hell Kovalchuk takes 5.7 million per year.
